MEDIAWATCH: The Spin-off suggests Mariameno Kapa-Kingi could vote for National???

Astounding claim by the wokiest woke wokers at The Spin-off that Mariameno Kapa-Kingi could vote for National…
It also allows Kapa-Kingi to remain politically fluid, potentially even supporting a National-led government if the opportunity arises.
…you would think after destroying dear old Joseph Los’es career, The wokiest woke wokers at The Spin-off might curtail their middle class fuckwittery, but no, they be full force this year.
Look.
Te Pati Māori’s internal dramas have been a political heartbreak.
From the dizzying highs just after the protests against ACTs terrible Treaty Principles Referendum to the internal civil war initiated by the Kapa-Kingi’s to their latest drama launching a new party against Te Pati Māori, it has been exhausting for supporters who want to see their policies put in place.
All however would be forgiven if Hone Harawira were Te Pati Māori’s candidate in the up coming Te Tai Tokerau election.
As it stands.
Kapa-Kingi’s new party, the ‘Te Tai Tokerau Party’ will most likely not be able to be registered with that name. Names of political parties can not confuse voters and naming your party after your electorate is likely to be considered confusing.
They have 200 paid members but need 500.
I can’t see why anyone outside Te Tai Tokerau would vote for them.
IF Hone is not the candidate and they chose someone else, it is most likely Willow-Jean will come through the middle, or even Huhana, but if Hone IS the candidate, not only would he most likely win the seat, he will pull more Party vote as well.
Hone is the OG of left wing Māori politics. His activism, his role as leader of MANA, his feed the kids policy and most importantly his economic platform that demands the rich be taxed more.
Since stepping back from National politics, Hone has been a never ending crusader for Te Tai Tokerau and has been deeply embedded within the community.
Hone Harawira running for Te Pati Maori in Te Tai Tokerau would be a game changer.
If they don’t select him, Willow-Jean wins the electorate and Māori Party gets a lower Party vote.
As Hone Harawira raises from the ashes to bring real working class politics, The Spin-off claiming Mariameno Kapa-Kingi could vote for National is driven by the Spin-offs own identity politics, not class dynamics because all the Spin-Off is capable of is identity politics and being ‘fluid’ is all that matters.
It’s a devastating reminder that The Spin-Off is a middle class Identity Politics echo chamber that should really only publish on BlueSky so that they don’t alienate voters this year and cost us the election again.
