  1. Very true Martyn,

    Where are those Union voices?

Shit we had a voice in 1970s why not now that a labour government is back in change again??????

Wake up unions!!!!! – We fully support this.

“If the Union movement in NZ wants the new Government to get a second term, they need to urgently start planning a counter strike capacity they currently don’t have, and if the Union movement don’t like what I’m saying to them now, just imagine how much more unpleasant you’ll feel when I start the ‘I told you so’ blogs.

    You have been warned.”

  2. More on John Bishop and the so-called Taxpayers “Union”; https://fmacskasy.wordpress.com/2014/04/25/know-your-tory-fellow-travellers-and-ideologues-john-bishop-taxpayers-union-and-the-nz-herald/

And in case anyone still harbours notions that the so-called Taxpayers “Union” is an independent, non-partisan group – here is a run-down on their Board of Directors (in 2014): http://thedailyblog.co.nz/2014/03/19/when-will-taxpayers-union-criticise-judith-collins-the-way-they-did-mojo-mathers/

They are clearly a front for National/ACT – a fact they’ve not even bothered to disguise. Unfortunately, the msm have chosen not to make this fact widely known to the public when the “Union” is asked to critique the government.

  3. I belong to my union, its a constant struggle to just keep what benefits and conditions we get in a collective agreement. Few unions would have enough left over to donate anything to a political party, let alone policy.

The TPPA locks in worker rights of union access and collective agreements to political policy, how effective that would be legally is another question.

New Labour has been assimilated by feminist economist doctrine, enforcing minimum wage movement upwards, it doesnt help anyone above minimum wage. Hence, the workforce is seeing a increasing wage gape, not one that shrinking.

  4. The unions need to recruit more members after 9 yrs of a bullshit tory government ruling for the rich, creating more inequalities, driving down wages using immigration as the vehicle to do so and undermining workers rights its time people starting working together so this never happens again.

  5. It is wise for the Unions to be alert to the treachery of Capitalists. As Martyn advises.

We all know for instance, that we have a long history of Dairy Farmers paying pathetically low wages to their staff.

Capitalists naturally incline themselves towards slavery; manipulation and deceit. Masters of Tax avoidance. Unable to control their lust

We are now in the age of Robotics and old strategies such as strikes must give way to strong Government protection to the Population each according to generous need.

The Coalition Government must fund extensive Billboards and Media Adverts comparing the Luxury of Capitalists to that of citizens.

Those Capitalists should be Named in BOLD. Constantly presented.

There is a chap working for Fonterra (has a branch up the road from here) who has paid himself $8.32 Million Dollars NZ – for his *work* in the past year. He Bottles milk. and packages milk powder.

This is a Government for the People, of the People. It must punish Greed and Expose its nakedness to the bone.

Every street in New Zealand should carry intelligent humiliation of Capitalist Treachery. Until such time as they apologise for their horrendous crimes of greed and despicable civic destruction.

  6. A suggestion to any transport unions considering strike action. Do a partial strike, where you continue driving the buses and trains, but refuse to collect any ticket money. That way the public will love the union, and the companies will feel it where it hurts (in the bottom line) for every day they refuse to negotiate in good faith. A winning strategy like this might be illegal, because there are a ridiculous number of laws limiting the right to strike. It’s time these laws were changed, and the first step might be civil disobedience against them.
