The 2016 election season continues to be quite the wild ride. No matter whether one is following events through the regular media and traditional outlets, or braving the wilds of social media feeds, each new day brings some shocking “revelation”which would have seemed utterly inconceivable the day before … yet there it is in print.
Labour must do more than not offend people if they want to be the Government. They have to offer hope and vision, and while affordable housing, education/health blah blahs and some tough on crime crap is all fine and dandy, it does nothing to inspire those living with the grim realities of debt and everyday life.

This is real life, not social media. You can’t just block someone or mute them, you have an obligation to interact civilly and if we as Pakeha want a day where we can celebrate being NZers, then that requires Maori to be with us enjoying the same fruits of the societal harvest.
English would have watched the backlash to the Peter Leitch is racist debacle and believed disrespecting Waitangi Day would perfectly compliment the growing anger at defaming Leitch.
Asking the Greens to stand their candidate aside and vote for a Labour candidate who is a former law and order hardarse like Greg O’Connor seems about as reasonable as appointing Cameron Slater to the Broadcasting Standards Association.
English is far more dangerous than Key, he is a fanatical anti-Gay, anti-abortion Catholic who believes welfare is the ultimate sin and he is far smarter a tactician than Key.
