  1. Hmmm, I can somehow tolerate Winston, apart from the odd comments he makes that betray some lack of tolerance, but Ron Marks, he is not at all my type of candidate. Then again, people in the Wairarapa may tick differently to us urbanites.

  2. In Gisborne/East coast Winston is more preferred than any other MP .

Most folks we meet all say he should be our next PM as has been widely recognised as you say, ” Winston, – is the single greatest Opposition MP presently performing in the House. Perhaps of all time.”

Your words not mine but these same words are also mentioned by many others, End of story mate!

  3. Where does Ron Mark stand on the proposed Wairarapa dam? It is going to end up having to be funded to the tune of millions every year by the Wairarapa’s councils and Greater Wellington to be profitable and is going to kill the Wairarapa’s rivers. I suspect he is for it.

  4. Curren, that was a beautifully written piece. Very fine work worthy of a NZF candidate. Your day will come, and when it does I want to be there!

Ron is a great leader in his own right. I certainly agree he is going to gain much more ground on his electorate given his diligent effort and very warm profile in the Rapa.

The rural communities and economically depressed regions around NZ are going to see a positively substantial shift in their economic growth over the next 5 years. National has consistently failed their backbone support for far too long, and the farming and rural communities are withering and wavering. They are on the cusp of political defiance, and are wise enough to see gowth and economic opportunity aligning with a party that is truly for the people, and with the people.

That growth and economic opportunity will be with the support of NZF more than any other party. Plans are afoot on that front, I believe you have some insight into where I am going with this.

When a Multi-Sector Economic Growth Strategy of such brilliance has been developed to specifically target and strengthen rural and depressed communities and regions around NZ and those taking this strategy to market are avant NZF supporters is there any wonder the future is not only black, it will be in the Black.

Keep up the good work Curwen, your strength, charisma, and political vision is what any political party would want and hope for to bring young voters and old to their door. NZF are the wealthy for your support.

  5. There is only one way I would contemplate voting for Winston Peters, and that is if he committed to a binding referendum on racial equality under the law.

If he did this, he would win not only my vote, but many hundreds of thousands. At a time when global politics is swinging away from Left v Right and towards Establishment v Anti-Establishment, parties like NZ First are gaining ground fast.

But Winston has trust issues. People wonder whether, at the end of the day, he’s more beholden to his Maori family or his nation.

His adoption or rejection of my proposed policy would test whether he is serious about spiking the guns of the radical Maori sovereigntists (whom National, Labour and the rest indulge daily), or whether he’s a fake as most suspect.

I hope he takes up the challenge of representing the wishes of 80% of his countrymen. If he does, he could soon be leading them.

With Ron Mark completing the only all-Maori top table outside the Maori Party, NZ First is the only party that can champion racial equality without being branded racist.

Your countrymen are counting on you, Winston and Ron. What are you waiting for?
