  1. The Pacific must continue to argue for right to help in the climate change crisis. Arguing for right behaviour won’t be enough though. What way can they worm their way through the nearly impermeable walls around the brains and minds of bigger countries’ decision makers?

  2. Watching Macron’s proud response to the referendum defeat in New Caledonia was a reminder of how geopolitical the empirical elite truly are.
    Also the reaction from local French “patriots” whose celebratory mood was unsurprising but still nauseating.
    Colonialism around the globe brought with it capitalism, slavery, exploitation, separation of ancestral lands and therefore for the great majority of indigenous populations generational poverty.
    It seems the Kanak people have another mountain to climb in their fight for independence.
