  1. Post reads a bit lopsided imo. Reads like a ‘poor me’ of lost virility. Young men and young women have ego issues that tend to mellow in time. We’re just not all popular or desirable – that’s just reality. There’s always going to be disturbed individuals. It is factual that men hold the overwhelming majority in violence statistics. Men could learn a lot about taming their egos from women. So there’s two sexes who experience life differently. Don’t make it a power division. I loved Yellow Jackets, with our very own Melanie Linskey. Great to see more women on screen in this genre. Get over this “poor men’ nonsense already. Life is hard for all of us.

  2. Poor wee Incels eh…well lets see, were a few things predicted that might have bought this scenario to fruition?
Well yes they were actually, namely neo liberalism atomising the more collective working class into individual consumers–winners and losers–junk food has not been kind to many either.

Full time work became precarious and contract work, so a lot of these savage fantasists are on the bones of their proverbial or living with parents in their 30s when previously they would have been independent with self respect. Post modernist philosophy replaced materialist philosophy so now any thing can mean anything! Unions were busted so it was harder to defend previous working class achievements.

From my observation a lot of males operate on the three Bs–Banter, Bravado and Bullying–which apart from my staunch political mates and is why I generally prefer female company.

Sure the joker in the pack from the mid 00s has been social media, anyone that can navigate a screen can be abused and has platforms to abuse others.

  3. As many old feminists would agree, this is a subject that needs discussing, and hopefully stopping the fire before it burns out our cultural structures capable of improvement and replaces them with mere ashes. Women wanting better treatment from society have not been served by strident, autocratic, middle class professionals often (or influenced by their teachings) pervading and oppressing all women not sharing their views.
    Did you know this –
<Boiling water can extinguish fire more quickly. The hot water sprinkled on the burning material is not only for cooling, but also for reducing the oxygen around it with converted steam. Cold water [is effective] to absorb a lot of heat.

    1. Maybe we shouldn’t write off those men that society deems to be less worthy.

Put it this way, lots of women expect to date Prince Charming, unfortunately most of the women themselves make the ugly sisters look like Cinderella

      1. Maybe society should encourage both men and women to do better for themselves? Just an idea aye

  4. Young men in the USA aren’t getting into long term relationships because:

    > The welfare system promotes solo motherhood, to the great detriment of society.

    > The laws around marriage massively favour the woman. In divorce the husband loses his house, access to his children, and must pay to support forever. 85% of divorces are initiated by women.

    > It’s cheaper to rent by the hour. LOL

  5. The propaganda wars. It doesn’t work but just ramps up the sense of victimisation and violent reactions on all sides.

How about we listen without entering a pain-based Special Olympics with teams competing via hyped rhetorical slogans and worse.

    You know, authentic dialogue.

  6. Very true Martyn. Although, I will make the point that at least one of these dudes is catching a charge that is absolute nonsense.

Mr. Reeves is probably not a fun guy I would want to hang up with, his phone pranks lack the real humour that comes from doing them with friends, and he did have material like the mosque shooting video that is genuinely objectionable (though really no worse than say Leon Uris’s ‘Exodus’ or the newsletters Juliet Moses puts out). But the ANARCHIST COOKBOOK? Let’s read the censor’s decision on that work, back in ’94 (although, I don’t think this was actually available of the censor office’s site until this year).

“Chapter 1 describes two techniques for the cultivation of marijuana, gives advice about how to purchase LSD on the black market and how to make LSD in the laboratory.”
Oh no. How is disgusting objectionable filth like ‘Outrageous Fortune’ or ‘Breaking Bad’ allowed to be circulated? Did the Police check for that on his hard drive as well?

“Also described in detail [is] the use of… cough syrup”
That’s right folks, COUGH SYRUP. Time to ban all of Lil’ Wayne’s songs where he promotes the use of ‘lean’, a cocktail of cough syrup and some disgusting American soft drink.

“The title to Chapter 2 is “Electronics, Sabotage and Surveillance”. Many of the activities described are illegal. For example, “If you’re going to get into shop lifting in a big way, check out all its aspects. A large store located near a big subway offers a great means of escape, especially in the rush hour, if a chase develops.””
Oh no! Not shoplifting! This is basically like gunning down a building full of people.

Ironically, the censors never mention the notoriously bad recipes that the ‘cookbook’ provides for explosives or ‘napalm’, which are far more likely to get the experimenter killed as anyone they might try to target.

Don’t forget that generally women bring up the males in society who if they were in a caring loving healthy minded family will be able to find a woman that fits their interests and culture, feelings and ambitions. But if mothers are forced out to work when they need to be home to nurture their youngsters, from toddler to young adult (25 years for maturity still prevails), then th children have less chance to be socialised and won’t be good consumers if that is all the bloody drivers in charge of society care about. Mothers also need to be socialised by doing a bit of work in the community or part-time job, so they are good role models and have self-respect. Boys won’t get respect for women seeing their mothers being bashed or sworn at, or if they allow or encourage it.

I think that helping kids learn about their own mentality, understand and respect themselves, and then do so with others as part of school curriculum is more important than a lot of what they are taught. Discussions about things that are happening in the world and learning how their minds can be played around with by the internet and television particularly, rather than films, ais important. The state having family camps when parents both have to be involved, with a monetary reward of child allowance to bring in the ones only reacting to money. Prepare the kids for the disillusions they will have when their illusions actually develop into expectations. And see that well set-up individuals rise above, and make more plans and find what will make them happy.

Try reading a wide range of books, discuss. Try some classics and more than spy and murder. I have just read a moving book by Nicholas Monsarrat, beautiful study of men under pressure and how naval men can develop a great fondness for their ship which holds together under fire and bad seas; how can you care about an inanimate thing? Well humans can – discuss. And women why do they dress up, and colour their faces and hair, and then say they do that to please themselves? Surely that’s a lie men would say. Discuss.

  8. Words showing confusion from Jim Croce. Who directed to – the government, the moralists, the women agitators, the men who can freely visit prostitutes. The women mentors who mouth critical words at males who have never hurt any woman physically or been abusive. Who, what?
Jim Croce 1943-1973. A bright, thoughtful fellow who doesn’t as most others do not, deserve to be vilified as males, disparaged for not being female.

    “Which Way Are You Goin’?”
    …Say you love the baby,
And then you crucify the man.
    Say you love the baby,
And then you crucify the man.

    Every day,
    Things are changing.
Words once honored turn to lies.
    People wandering
    Can you blame them?
    It’s too far to run
    And too late to hide.

So now you turn your back on,
Everything that you used to preach.
It’s let him live in freedom,
    If he lives like me.
    Well your light has changed,
    Confusion reigns.
    What have you become?…

Croce died in a plane crash in 1973. A number of musicians succumbed to this. Was that an example of low regulation – free market systems that lacked safety effectiveness? Was it in the USA?

Graduating in 1960, he studied at Malvern Preparatory School for a year before enrolling at Villanova University, majoring in psychology and minoring in German.[5][6] Croce received a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies degree in 1965. He was a member of the Villanova Singers and the Villanova Spires. When the Spires performed off-campus or made recordings, they were known as The Coventry Lads.[7] Croce was also a student disc jockey at WKVU, which has since become WXVU…

We lost a good musician there, and I think a good man, but there are others!

  9. ” blame …. society for their insecurities and personal failings”.

Isn’t that the normal symptom of all the victim groups? Shit, may be men are the real victims here?

  10. I watched with concern after seeing what my daughter was being taught at her all girls school in Wellington. I tried to give her some balance but the message is broadcast loud and clear and history lessons were really social studies where topics were the suffragette movement, US civil rights in the 60s, NZ women’s movements and of course the TOW – it will be even more skewed now that the new Maori centric ‘history’ curriculum is in place.
Government controls the education syllabus, they should be promoting balance not division.

    1. Daniel. Agree 100%.. Hang onto your books, it’s a start. The Education Department prioritising gender issues over and above education fundamentals may be the questionable outcome of capture by the PC woke brigade at best, or at worst, it’s a continuation of the deliberate dumbing down of New Zealand society.

Rewriting history to the detriment of one ethnicity is divisive, pernicious, and damaging, and it can be seen here as akin to Mao’s cultural revolution which destroyed so much historical and social good in the Middle Kingdom. The Real Estate Institute’s retraining camps in Tauranga, is a neat example of a scenario which has been acted out in government departments for a while now, and is being extended into the universities to such an extent that academic freedom and freedom of thought may be vanishing instead of being nourished.

My Hons research essay from decades ago, wouldn’t make if past the gate keepers of today, and making it Treaty compliant would be impossible, as the ToW bears no relevance whatsoever to the subject matter. You’re not the only parent concerned about what’s happening in the school system, and it’s one of the reasons why parents are turning to home schooling. Not all parents have that option, and not all parents are particularly cognisant about what’s happening. As usual, it’s the children whose young lives are blighted.

    2. Daniel. Bear in mind that this has been going on under the eye of the PM, as Minster of Education, and it is his deputy, Sepuloni, who decided to axe the Commissioner for Children, and replace the Commissioner with faceless backroom penpushers from that same contentious department.

  11. Want to get a girlfriend? Hit the gym, everyone can do that, get clean and get your money right. And most of all. Don’t give woman free attention.

Reason why woman say all men are rapist, cheaters or whatever is because they think that the portion of guys they choose to sleep with us representative of all men. And learn how to fight. It’s not enough to know how to throw a punch you have to know how to take a punch. That’ll give confidence.

Ain’t going to learn that in school.
