  1. Part of the history of work here to eliminate nuclear weapons is of course iCAN Aotearoa New Zealand, one of iCAN’s eight national campaigns : ) That work has included the petition to parliament in 2011 which resulted in a unanimous Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Select Committee report that NZ should take a leading role in negotiating a nuclear ban treaty. We will be celebrating the Nobel Peace Prize and the ban treaty on Thursday, details at http://www.icanw.org.nz and https://www.facebook.com/events/164564250815788

    1. Lois is right – Nash clearly should have been much more highly placed than he was, but I think it may have just been being male and Pakeha that counted against him, as they had one or two questionable Nth Islanders who ranked higher; they – and NZ – should have been grabbing Thomas Nash with both hands; if the Greens don’t get the co-leadership right, then I fear they could be singing their swan song.

  2. I put Thomas Nash VERY high on my vote for the Green Party candidate list. The Party should rethink its ‘quota’ policy. Being a male, pakeha, North Island resident all counted against him.
