Israeli genocide holiday season in NZ peaking now

Our summer is the main time for Israelis to visit New Zealand, and PSNA is warning that many soldiers who have been serving in the IDF genocide in Gaza will be among them.
Palestine Solidarity Network Aotearoa says Immigration NZ figures show 799 Israelis visited New Zealand last December, and half of them would be of an age to be eligible for compulsory military service. The Israeli visitor numbers then usually increase for January and February.
PSNA Co-chair John Minto says all these soldiers would have been complicit in some way with the ongoing genocide in Gaza during the past two years.
“So, what these troops are doing, is having a ‘Genocide Holiday’ here. They belong to a military force which has been responsible for perhaps hundreds of thousands of deaths in Gaza, the all but total destruction of its buildings and other infrastructure, and mass ethnic cleansing and starvation.”
The IDF has killed more than 400 Palestinians in Gaza since October when the ceasefire was meant to have begun.
“It’s a disgrace that our Foreign Minister says they are welcome to come here,” Minto says.
‘Our officials can’t even bother to ask these likely war criminals, whether they live or operate in Occupied East Jerusalem or West Bank. The International Court of Justice says signatories to the Geneva Conventions, such as New Zealand, must not do anything which perpetuates the Occupation.
The 2016 United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which New Zealand co-sponsored, required countries “to distinguish, in their relevant dealings, between the territory of the State of Israel and the territories occupied since 1967”.
“Free visas for soldiers who enforce the Occupation or live as occupiers, can’t be seen as anything other than a New Zealand endorsement of the Occupation and a breach of the terms of a UN Security Council resolution which New Zealand played a major role in passing.”
Minto says he fears the risk of violence from these visitors.
“Weve seen more threats and acts of violence against Palestinian supporters from Israelis and their supporters over the past few months.
“Two former IDF people have appeared in court after their physical attacks on protesters.”
“We are maintaining our hotline this summer – 027 427 2784 – for people who are concerned for their safety when they encounter IDF types in holiday spots, and to identity them wherever in the country they are enjoying their break from genocide.”

Kia kaha!
Lets not forget at the time of the Feb 22nd earthquake 5 IDF people were here in christchurch with stolen NZ passports found in their van they abandoned.
I wouldn’t put it passed some of those holidaying IDF folks to be doing it again to hide their Israeli identity.
Let’s stop thinking of sly buggers here in NZ. The point is what is happening to ordinary people in Palestine, and Israel. We cling onto the idea we are good deserving people; so think about Palestinians too as good deserving people and concentrate on their tragedy. Then what about Israelis – aren’t they going to be similar to us?
They are suffering from the control of their political and military class.
We know that we are suffering a little in our free country, from useless even naughty politicians. How are Israelis getting on under their political class? On looking at this video which seems to say that the small wars gave them a united feeling which overcame any disagreements they had, but now the continuation and escalation of the war is annihilating their spirit. (And it is said that Margaret Thatcher took UK to fight against Argentina for same reason, to lessen dissension; it is a response that has been well known for ages.)
It occurs to me that Israeli citizens may now be suffering possibly similar to Jews early in the 1930s, perhaps with fear of standover tactics from police or forces.

Why is Israel splitting in two? Historian IIan Pappe’ explains the Internal War that
Nobody Talks About .
The video is about an internal split in Israel. Let’s concentrate on their problems in that part of the world and not go skidding off about agents here and phony passports. Know about it but as a minor part of their extremity.
Palestinians are human beings like us. zionists universally support the genocide. They are enemies. They need to be identified and rooted out.
“ Minto says he fears the risk of violence from these visitors.”
I wish he actually needed to.
Seems like your name should be “doing good will be bad 4U”.
JM standing up for those being oppressed and you supporting the oppressors tells us all we need to know about your lack of decent moral values.
I’m not sure that targeting all Israeli tourists is justified – the crimes are the actions of government, and thus any sanctions in the absence of evidence of individual involvement should be directed at the arms of government.
Sending the Israeli embassy home and gifting that real estate to Palestinians in partial restitution might be more effectual as a protest against the state’s crimes.
I’m fit, strong, trained in a martial art and am well able to defend myself so the idf would be powerless against me because I’m not a starving little kid with a close to death mother and a long murdered father now buried under rubble in a winter bound Gaza which are the targets favoured by big brave IDF soldiers. My question would be why the fuck are our gutless politicians letting those idf fuckers into our country? Oh wait. Our greedy, gutless politicians can be all bought and paid for.
