  1. Thanks for that Brian
It’s harrowing . But worthwhile to get the picture from that perspective.
Lots of reports have suggested that the majority of people who are infected show little or no symptoms. This makes it seem that there is a threshold of either bodily reaction to the infection or a natural vulnerability that means that once a patient is affected to a certain degree, indicating the need for hospitalisation the prospects of recovery become exponentially worse .

Ballad to the NHS – Charlie Knowles

“A song I penned to support NHS and other key workers fighting the COVID pandemic. Just a phone voice memo of me and my guitar at home with pictures of those who have lost their lives by helping others.”

I thought I’d grown tougher after so many awful reports, but couldn’t help tearing up part way through. It’s also on youtube here:

  3. Jason Hill who is working in ER at New York Presbyterian Hospital is a true hero we must place on the mattle of human laid bare, so to Jason we all take our hats off here, we satute you for your treless care of our less fortunate folks struck down by Covid 19.

  4. > Today I stand in a room with hundreds and hundreds of face shields. They are pulled hot off the 3D printers like newspapers off a press.

I think it’s significant and worth noting that this decentralized, *local*, “open source” manufacturing by not-for-profit Maker (hardware hacker) communities around the world has been able to supply a range of health equipment, at a time when the centralized, global supply chains of for-profit pharma corporations have failed. Jason Hill’s tribute to the NY makers is one of many I’ve seen online since this crisis began. Yet another argument for peer-to-peer venture communism replacing venture capitalism?

  5. Thank you for this! Everyone is wrapped up in their problems and pains, but this makes you step back and be thankful! It could be worse and its still good people out here helping during this time not just to get a paycheck.

  6. Also there are volunteering nurse working for nothing from all over the usa working in hospitals in NY CITY. They all deserve our utmost respect.
