While for some New Zealanders being stopped by police from driving their Audi or Mercedes on route to their holiday home is their biggest problem, in South Auckland other New Zealanders are living with 10 people in a 3 bedroom house and wondering how long the supermarket line will be today.
Life before the lockdown for the people of Manukau was difficult, duringthis time it’s harder, so what the State(that’s you and me by the way ) need to do is create the money to deliver jobs – so that the economy can be fired up from the bottom up and not from the top down by bailing out large corporations and overseas owned New Zealand companies.
Yesterday I spoke with Efeso Collins who is an Auckland City Councillor representing the peole who live in the poorest part of our largest city.
What Efeso has to say is not only eye opening but insightful, informed and visionary.
You know…we have some excellent and progressive community leaders. Let’s listen to them and give them the mandate they need to change our nation from a Me society to a WE society again.

I think a big issue that governments are missing are self-employed people. The small businesses that make up a large part of any countries economy. If they fail we will all have huge problems.
