  1. On 21st September 1962 New Zealand voted to invade & occupy West New Guinea under authority of General Assembly resolution 1752 (XVII). Within eight days Pakistani troops were on the streets of Hollandia with guns, and six months later the UN asked Indonesian troops to assume the occupation & administration of the colony.

Although New Zealand and the UN General Assembly has a political option to decide to invade & seize control of any territory under article 85 part 1 of the Charter of the United Nations; neither New Zealand nor any other nation has a right to disregard our legal obligation article 85 part 2 of informing the Trusteeship Council about that UN invasion/trusteeship of a colony.

In hind-sight it is obvious the UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold was killed so he could be replaced by Indonesia’s friend U Thant who helped Indonesia orchestrate and conceal this United Nations trusteeship. Hammarskjold was killed in 1961 just eight days before he could speak in support of the Dutch application for a normal UN trusteeship of West Papua – but he was killed and a “special United Nations trusteeship of West New Guinea” was proposed at the next General Assembly in 1962.. Why ‘special’, because the new Secretary General would not tell the Trusteeship Council and therefore the TC could not begin making the legally required (Charter article 87 & article 88) reports about the “progress” of West Papua towards “self-government or independence” as required by article 76 of the Charter.

Although it is always illegal to slaughter people & loot a colony, U Thant was able to give Indonesia and its mining friends (Freeport mining) effective free-license to kill & loot in this colony because the UN Secretariat refused to put the issue of General Assembly resolutions 1751 & 171 on the agenda of the Trusteeship Council as required by the UN Charter… The result is that hundreds of thousands of innocent people have been murdered and Hundreds of $billions have been looted from the colony while New Zealand and other UN nations remain complicit by also refusing to put the missing items of General Assembly resolutions 1752 & 171 on the agenda of the Trusteeship Council.

It is shameful that Australia and New Zealand have been complicit in this UN occupation and violation of UN Charter protocols (articles 85 part 2, article 87, article 88, and article 76) instead of helping our friends in Washington resist the illegal manipulation by their Cold-war banker Robert Lovett who wanted West Papua’s gold & copper and who could only get the wealth with an Indonesian mining license because his Rockefeller business partners had been illegally concealing discovery & survey of the mineral wealth from the Dutch & Papuans since 1936.

    1. The US has been giving Indonesia aid for years including providing money, military supplies and training to the Kopassus which has been responsible for numerous serious human rights abuses – including killings, enforced disappearances, and torture – since the 1990s.

In the 2000’s Australia gave aid in the form of white Toyota vans, a documentary was done on them because suddenly white vans just showed up and disappeared Indonesians.

Unfortunately for West Papua they are to poor to resist and too rich to leave alone. The way to deal with this situation is known. We’ve dealt with this type of situation in East Timor, with the right planning and resourcing we could do it again, even go it alone.
