Federated Farmers calls for inquiry into ex-tropical Cyclone Hale damage factors

Federated Farmers is calling on the government to establish an inquiry into the factors that contributed to flooding and smashed infrastructure from ex-tropical Cyclone Hale.

…ummmmm. Climate change caused by your industry’s emissions?

This is hilarious coming from an organisation who only last year declared that climate change ‘probably exists’.

Apart from the emissions their industry creates, the reason why the Cyclone Hale storm damage was so severe was because the Forestry Industry are environmental vandals when it comes to the slash they leave behind from monoculture forests when the solution demands native planting.

It’s fun watching the Dairy Industry and the Forestry Industry attack each other but you aren’t sure who you want to lose. It’s like watching the Daleks fighting the Cybermen.

Both industries are causing enormous environmental damage, both deserve new regulations.

The problem for both Industry’s is the same problem for the political right in NZ, climate change caused by man made pollution is getting worse and at some point, as we are seeing now in Auckland,  the voters will rebel and demand actual change.

There is an inevitability about what happens next which means adaptation will be forced upon us.

Don’t forget, every time you see those Green Crosses on the side of the motorway remember it is to protest against the environmental damage cause by corporate intensive farming.
