Former National Party leader Don Brash says a Christchurch nurse who threw a dildo at Government minister Steven Joyce may have avoided a criminal charge because she was Maori and a woman.
…seeing as Maori women make up over 58% of the prison population, I’m amazed Josie wasn’t tasered and then fatally wounded in a Police chase.
Don has a fetish for playing the Maaaaori privilege card. It’s such a ludicrous myth that doesn’t in any way shape or form represent the reality of most Maori. It’s lazy thinking, cheap stereotypes and a total manipulation of the truth.
Josie wasn’t arrested and charged because the Government wanted the moment over the second it started. Josie’s action managed to mock the pompous bullshit Joyce was spinning in defence of the TPPA, she did what satire should do, deflate the powerful with a withering derision equal to the foolishness being touted.
The Government did’t want one more second of that image to remain in front of the electorate. That is why she wasn’t charged. It had nothing to do with her gender or race.
Don goes onto claim that it will have turned some towards the supporting the TPPA because the action was so terrible.
Maybe.
But it has also pulled in a huge number of young people and the missing million voters who have never been so angry. The numbers are building against the TPPA far faster than for it.
The anti-TPPA protest that shut the city down with 30 000 protestors was a clear message to the Government that we will not allow them to sign away our sovereignty.
We can not allow American Corporations to create a de facto upper house to the NZ Parliament.
The good news is that it will take time for the Government to try and ram all of this through. That’s why we here at TDB think we need a season of protests against the TPPA.
The Government are taking their bandwagon of lies and misinformation around the country as part of their propaganda campaign, we MUST fight to have our voices heard at every single one of these meetings and bring huge amounts of protest to every one.
Registrations open for TPP roadshows
Trade Minister Todd McClay announced today the Government will be running nation-wide roadshows on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
“The roadshows are for interested members of the public to learn more about this important trade agreement, and to assist businesses identify and plan for new export opportunities when TPP comes into force,” says Mr McClay.
Registrations are now open for the first four roadshows atwww.tpp.mfat.govt.nz/events:
• Auckland, 7 March
• Christchurch, 11 March
• Dunedin, 14 March
• Wellington, 17 MarchRoadshows will be also held in following months in Hamilton, Napier, Nelson, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Tauranga, and Whangarei.
We need to start a TPPA Season of protests and call on all members of the movement to protest at these venues.

Instead of just protesting at the meetings wouldn’t it make more sense to engage and ask some pointed questions regarding areas of particular concern ?
You still expect that pointed questions will provide something other than casual dismissal and outright lies?
That’s about as “pointed” as you could probably get without calling it a sharp instrument. Brash and co. are merely bemoaning their shortcomings in a democracy where size does matter.

Jane Kelsey needs to be at every meeting to tell the real truth about the TPPA.
If we can crowd-fund for a beach, we can crowd-fund to keep our sovereignty by making sure that Jane Kelsey attends every meeting. I’d donate for that to happen.
“Waitangi Day is a serious day for New Zealand. I understand she was there for the TPP but she seems to know nothing about it at all,” said Brash.
So Don Brash thinks Waitangi Day is a very important day and is therefore critical of the PM for not attending Waitangi Day. Does this mean that Don Brash and Judith Collins will be making a political move against the PM soon. Before or after the the flag referendum?
Brash the old discarded ‘has-been’ should spend his end days contemplating his past deeds or doing something worth while like feeding the hungry or helping the homeless rather than spend his days making nasty racist and quite stupid misogynistic comments.
