  1. Labour/NZ First want rail used now and the Greens support more diesel buses!!!!!

    I am astonished of this!!!!!

    I bet the Maori party do support the rail services too?

    FACT;

    DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF ALL RAIL LINES IN NZ UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICES ACT ALL IWI’S WERE CONSULTED BY GOVERNMENT FOR AN AGREEMENT TO USE THAT LAND ACCESS IN RETURN FOR A PROMISED RAIL SERVICE.

    This was under the rail building program from the 1870’s when the then PM Sir Julius Vogel’s NZ wide “Public works act”.

    To this original agreement with the iwi’s the green Party now will not honour that agreement to restore the full rail freight/passenger services to that rail line?????

    Labour and NZ First and presumably the Maori Party are in support a current use of the rail line for rail services but Green Party is not????

    When I was a member of Green Party then in 2000/03 RAIL was the mainstay of land transport for the environment & health of the people.

    Does the Green Party not support Iwi rights now?

    Who are the racist now after the Green Party CO-Leader was calling NZ First racist a week or so ago?

    The Green Party need to revise their leadership policies.

    Who are the racist now?

  2. The New Zealand Trucking Agency is doing its job, building road, roads, roads.
    The Green Party transport policy for Auckland is a bloody shambles. They will give us heavy rail, two separate light rail systems (One to the airport, one to the North Shore) and now a busway to the Northwest.
    And don’t think that trams can run on the railway. Unless they meet heavy rail crashworthiness and signalling standards in which case why not just have real trains?
    I’m speaking as a Green voter and retired 42 year railwayman.

    1. Hi Chris,

      We are moving to NZ First just look up the policy rails of National Importance (RONI) policy to their site. Best of any party policy for Rail.

    2. NZ First have the best rail policy. Look up (RONI) “Rails of National importance” on their website.
