  1. Well Ben, there is no disagreement that the American operation to abduct Maduro was a well planned, and executed tactical win. However, the long term strategic goals seem to be either ill thought out, or non existent. How will any country on the face of this planet take the yanks seriously if they ever have to engage in negotiations?

But the kidnapping of Maduro will make a great movie, probably made by Paramount and starring Chris Pratt. We’ll have to wait for the inevitable books written by special forces “operators” to be published first though.

  2. The US capability might impress people who believe that “might is right” although I think that in the hands of their current president that it is better to be concerned about what the next target could be. I am very concerned when a country that claims to be a democracy decides that it can make decisions for other countries without any sort of voter support. While the removal of Maduro has popular support it is still a unwelcome trend and using the skill of those involved as a way to justify it does not sit well with me.

  3. I’m sure Ben has heard of King Pyrrhus, a leader of great tactical superiority, who won battle after battle only to lose the war. His spirit watches the deeds of the US with some considered alarm.

  4. They killed 32 soldiers of a country they were not at war with – if I was Cuba I’d start initiating lawsuits straight away.
