When will Soper, Hooton, Hosking, Hawkesby & Du Plessis-Allan move on from petrol taxes and predicting the end of the new Gov and start asking hard questions of National over the Earthquake rebuild clusterfuck, Middlemoore Hospital rot and housing project implosions?
The level of grotesque underfunding and poorly planned social policy so National could get their tax cut budget surpluses are coming thick and fast now.

The EQC blowout is a systemic failure just like leaky homes.Those are the words of a senior Government source I spoke to while investigating this story.
The EQC blowout is a human tragedy just like leaky homes – hundreds if not thousands of Kiwis with broken homes where the mortgage is now more than the value.
Broken homes, breaking the Kiwi dream of owning your own place.
It is a story about systemic failure, about people being left with nowhere to go – just like leaky homes.
And there are hundreds if not thousands of Kiwi families caught up in this.
There is one difference – unlike leaky homes, this time the Government is set to be liable.
That is because EQC cleared the homes when it shouldn’t have.

$300m Auckland housing project in doubt
A $300 million scheme to fast-track 6200 new houses in Auckland’s northwest is facing financial challenges and could be canned.Last year, Auckland Council received $300 million from the Government’s $1 billion Housing Infrastructure Fund to build new roads and water infrastructure for 6200 houses at Whenuapai and Redhills.
The $1b fund was spread across five of New Zealand’s fastest-growing councils and is expected to speed up work on new houses by up to eight years.
But a report going to Auckland Council’s governing body meeting today says rising infrastructure costs and developers not being able to fund their portion means the scheme may not proceed.
…and of course Middlemoore Hospital full of black mould and raw sewage.
How can the National Party destroy the country over 9 years, get exposed after they leave power and yet still have 44% of NZ supporting them?
Something is broken culturally when a Government can govern so badly and still receive 44% in the polls.
The reason is obvious, none of the issue listed above affect National Party voters!
The problem I have with the EQC on sold issue is that if you bought a house in Christchurch after the earthquake you needed to do due diligence. When family members bought they had the insurance assigned to them but they also had an engineer go over the house and check the roof, the ceilings, the walls, water tightness and the floor and produce a report that could be used if anything cropped up. Some of the people now complaining were relying on the EQC statement of work only even though there was already complaints about EQC’s practices. There is a need for some personal responsibility both from the owners and the EQC employees. I would have thought if people signed off SOW’s that were incorrect both EQC and the individuals should be liable and if people bought houses without getting a report how is that different to the water tightness on solds who are stuck fixing up their houses?

Yes. Its called having an ex media mogul like Stephen Dildo Joyce being Nationals ‘Mr Fixit ‘ and influencing the populace Nationals by having their people placed in the mass media.

We also have the former Business Roundtable now calling themselves the NZ Initiative come into play here… they were the original sponsors of the Roger Douglas neo liberal takeover of NZ.
They donated heavily to both National and Labour when it suited. They are the spearhead for the London based Mont Pelerin Society that orchestrated neo liberalism in NZ in the first place.
And the plan worked wonders.
And those who got the crumbs off the table ,… supported it wholeheartedly.
And those who didn’t died in the streets , their children having died before them with third world preventable communicable respiratory diseases in moldy decrepit houses because the family couldn’t afford the privatized electricity charges.
The lucky ones got to live in garages and pay full rent .
Others were handed tents to live in by WINZ.
They had to live in tents because National was trying flog off the remaining stock of houses or privatize large blocks of them to their associates . Others remained empty. But it wasnt until about a year before the election that we really got to hear all about about Nationals corruption.
Why?
Because National had the airways sown up by embedding their people in what was supposed to have been a neutral state media.
And yet 44% STILL cant believe they were conned by a bunch of vicious criminals. The reality is either too much to bear or they were the financial recipients themselves.
And for the record?
I don’t give a shit about Godwins Law.
It is called a law that is no such thing : it is no more than a convenient way to shut down valid comparisons to be made with the same sort of evil corrupt skulduggery that existed in NAZI Germany , – or anywhere else in any other time whereby there was political corruption running rampant.
Such as here in New Zealand under the John Key administration.
And like Germany , its taken over 60 years to come to terms with the monsters that had in power , – and some who are still alive deny to this very day.
I do not expect we will see a change in this sort of deliberate , culpable blindness for many years to come.
how can National maintain 44% support (of those who choose to vote)?….sadly because if you disbelieve the evidence you sleep better….shallow and true.
