The Liberal Agenda – Protest the Warkworth Rodeo

Direct Animal Action are taking action for rodeo animals this summer and we need you to join us.
We’re holding a series of protests across the season with our first at the Warkworth Rodeo on Monday 1st January 2018. Join us to say, “Stop the Bullying! Ban Rodeo in NZ”
All placards and banners will be provided as we’re sticking to a set theme. So no need to bring anything, just yourself, some sunscreen and a hat!
We ask you to arrive at Hudson Road, Warkworth (left off State Highway 1, opposite the A&P Showgrounds entrance) at 10:20am on Monday 1st January for a briefing session from our action co-ordinators.
This will be a peaceful and positive action aimed at raising awareness within the local community and keeping the national spotlight on the suffering of rodeo animals. We ask that everyone respects the vision of this action to help us minimize the likelihood of confrontation.
Rodeo can never be humane. It’s up to all of us to call on our new Government to end this cruelty. Start 2018 off by taking action for the animals, we’ll see you there!
Our second protest will be in Whangarei on Saturday 13th January 2018 12-1pm at 32 Kokopu Block Road, Maungatapere.
Our final protest of the season will be in the Waikato on Saturday 2018 17th February 1-2pm at Kihikihi Domain, Corner of Grey & Dick Streets, Kihikihi, Te Awamutu.

The protests are having an effect.
Here, in the Manawatu, the rodeos have been renamed ‘bull rides’ events.
No mention of chasing a scared calf then roping and tying it into submission.
Just an innocent bull ride.
