  1. CHipkins is showing where his skills and passion lies: public servants and the welfare state.
He usually isn’t this clear about what he’ll do different.

  2. Hipkins’ pitch is empty & performative, for now

” Hipkins says ‘Neoliberal, trickle-down economics is a hoax,’ but he hasn’t disavowed the 30:30 rule at the heart of National & Labour’s three-decade-long adherence to neoliberalism; Not yet at least ”

Why it matters that the very problems that existed in the Hipkins government then turned into a severe cost of living crisis with no material plan on how to deal with that and housing and other unregulated capitalist catastrophes including being rorted by out of control power prices , obscene bank profits and supermarket extortion he is either ignoring or simply will leave it all to the market to solve all over again.
For the record Megan Woods Hipkins energy minister made domestic power prices explode with her free market reforms.

People DO remember the the shit show that was 2022-23 and the animosity Labour generated up to and after Adern bailed out.

As a left wing voter who knew exactly what the incoming government would do it was all the more depressing to see Labour for what deep down I knew they really were …just another neoliberal standard bearer maintain the status quo when the result was the beginning of the cost of living crisis and their refusal to do anything outside of their free market mandate. In desperation Hipkins and the Cabinet begrudgingly offered GST off your potatoes and onions to try and pretend they understood what their solicited voters needed.

They were thrown out and handed control to their neolberal partner’s who have been even more cruel and mercenary to many of our people that can’t donate big sums of money or pay for policy that will enrich them

  3. Sorry ( Not soz.) but who are we voting out again? The National Party? But they hatched then unleashed neoliberalism’s stoats to let loose amongst we flightless birds of AO/NZ and as a consequence of that, all of our so-assumed diverse politics is the same thing. I know, everybody thinks it was Labour because a stunted fascist traitor called roger douglas was Labour’s minister of finance for two terms, long enough to pollute Labour with milton friedman and fredrick hayeks shit flecked arse fart commonly known as neoliberalism.
Are we ready to talk about that yet? Or are we still in denial about why we are who we are today? I saw roger douglas here, not that long ago and strangely it was at exactly that same time that I was ghosted from the comments section because, well, as you might imagine, I was quite vocal about the funny wee things presence here.
If you’ve ever owned a pet like a dog or, God forbid, a cat and you opened the door to a strange and unsettling smell and you can’t find where it’s coming from?

  4. Yes, Hipkins certainly does matter! He is the definition of normality, caring, sound policies and honesty, all sadly lacking in our current CoC whose God is Money for the already wealthy. If voters can’t see the difference they shouldn’t be voting – they are as empty-headed as the CoC they appear to see nothing wrong with. There is actually nothing RIGHT about this current CoC – they are a pack of robots, who believe they are making a difference, but are getting nowhere. The facts speak for themselves when – “Nicola Willis has funnelled approx $13b in tax payer funding into the pockets of private landlords in the last two years”! How can voters be so damned dumb and gormless? Beats me! Well, come Nov we will see just how smart/dumb Kiwis are!

    1. Chippy can’t be transformative/radical unless there is a popular movement at his back. At no time in history has a politician been truly transformational unless they’ve had some form of power behind them – it could be in the form of the corporate sector or it could be the a labour movement holding a gun, it doesn’t really matter.

What matters is that we get off our arses and build the movement so they can say “I had no choice, I had to move left”

  5. Tax on food is driving 600,000 people to rely on food banks.

Tax on food is “morally and ethically bankrupt”.

Will Chris Hipkins remove gst from food?

    NO GST ON FOOD!
