This election it’s either Winston as PM for 12 months, 18months or TOP – pick one

Look.

Winston is playing to the worst angels of our nature and is drawing voter support from the sub 5% threshold conspiracy swamp, that’s why he uses trigger words like ‘globalist’ and is attacking the WHO.

His anti-vax whero-neck Jacinda hating, woke frothing voters want him to go full Nuremberg hangings for crimes against medicine.

NZF are gleeful in their malice and  wilful ignorance.

Winston at 80 is box ticking now and all he wants left is Prime Ministership.

He has been Kingmaker 4 times before and is older than the state of Israel, this election he will attempt to leverage his kingmaker role for his own interests.

The deal with National and ACT will be ‘make me PM for 12 months’, the deal with Labour/Greens will be ‘make me PM for 18months + give me Chippys head on a platter’.

So our options are the calcified hates and fear of Winston as PM for 18mots or 12moths.

How broken is MMP if Winston is the only option?

There is another outcome.

TOP.

If TOP cross the 5% threshold (they were 4% in Roy Morgan and gained .5 in the last TU Poll), it is a game changer because Labour + Greens + TOP are far less scary than Labour + Green + Te Pati Māori.

So, your options this election are:

• Winston as the bloody PM for 12 months as part of a National/ACT/NZF Government.
• Winston as the bloody PM for 18months as part of a Labour/Green/NZF Government.
• Or Labour + Greens + TOP.

Only one of those options would generate any actual meaningful change in NZ politics and it ain’t the first 2.
