Of course we shouldn’t privatise Air NZ!

David Seymour renews call to sell government’s Air NZ shares after half-year loss
Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour has renewed his call for the government to sell its 51 percent stake in Air New Zealand after it reported a significant half-year loss.
RNZ
How stupid are we as a people?
Air NZ has a bad year and suddenly there’s ACT demanding we privatise it!
With National promising to sell every state asset not tied down if they win a second term, Air NZ must be a consideration and that would be insane!
WE KNOW WHAT PRIVATISATION WOULD DO BECAUSE WE’VE ALREADY BEEN THERE DUMB ARSE!
NZ was forced to buy Air NZ after it was privatised and made a $1.4billion loss in 2001 and Helen Clark had to step in and buy an 82% stake!
We know what privatisation does, it strips the asset to make short term profits!
Some organisations are there to provide a service, running them like a business to profit maximise is NOT their purpose.
Air NZ should have a social obligation to keep prices low because the service they provide is essential and because we own it.
Damning them for a bad year and demanding privatisation as the solution is the dumbest thing NZ could do and seeing as we seem to love dumb ideas, it will probably happen.
The fact so few people seem to be even aware of the previous privatisation is frightening because we seem unable to learn lessons from the past.
Privatisation and user pays is the problem, not the solution you stupid Hobbits!
