  1. That is why we need to get rid of them at the next election Martyn as housing is one area they show their true colors; they are for the sorted. They are happy to intensify but not in their areas affecting their voters. They strip state housing land and assets selling it to developers every time they get in power reducing the pool of social housing for working class and the poor, creating more hardship. They dumb down the quality of state housing being built to ugly tiny little boxes with hardly any land. I live in the Hutt Valley I see it all around us. There are duplexes everywhere and many are ugly and intrusive. How many state houses or social houses have they built? And how much government funding have they given to private companies to build social housing and make them richer? Jacinda built thousands and this government were there cutting the ribbons and taking the accolades. Too many NZers have been hoodwinked, and they need to wise up before it is too late, and this government sells what little we have left. To add to matters where are our ferries this COC government is destroying our beautiful Wellington. Bishop needs to go as does Nicola they don’t like Wellington because they voted Greens. Also, we need to forget the roads of significance and fix the crumbling existing ones to a high standard.

  2. Same old, same old smug, compacent propertied boomers and real estate pimps vs the workers, disabled and needy. Talk about bull-sh&t and brain-washing, but funny how their message “Get NZ back on track” admits they are off the track and in fact have never been on it! Have they NO SHAME at all? Are they so up themselves that they can’t honestly see how devoid of human feelings they have become and what they are doing to our country and the decent people? It beggars belief that there can be so many twisted, dishonest MP’s in this greedy CoC of no-hopers. Something big has to happen and soon. They need to be held accountable for their devious actions. ‘Real New Zealanders’ – join forces and fight this scourge before they do more damage. We truly can’t sit back and watch. And if you have had to flee NZ, please continue to vote so you keep the door open and have something to return to.

  3. 29 percent of home buyers are first home buyers .After 2 years of Coalition government interest rates are down house prices are down ,banks are more confident to lended on less deposit and with a growing economy couple are happy to commit. Hopefully these people will vote for the party that has made their dream possible.

    1. Interest rates falling has zero to do with the the Coalition of Incompetence and everything to do with world markets.

Falling house prices are due to the flow on effect of the Labour Party banning overseas buyers from using our houses as bargaining chips in what was a giant pyramid scheme, and, stopping the house flippers by taxing them still.

They are still 30% too high…at the very least….

Where’s the legislation to ensure that real estate agents can no longer clip the ticket for massive amounts of the sale price of a house… instead… making it so that they can charge no more than 1% of a house sale price, or, $10,000…whichever is the lesser of the two.

This will bring the average price of a house down by $ 30,000 immediately.

Many of the “1st home buyers” are not people young people who have scrimped and saved up $300,000 and then taken on a $600,000 to mortgage of their own bat….

Oh no! …they are the offspring of the wealthy…The ‘bank of mum and dad’, who, an agent tells me, are the main funders of ‘1st home buyer’s’…
Meaning… your average single person, or couple, with average paying jobs, is…. screwed.

Statistics are not all what they seem!

As famous Aussi band Midnight Oil sang…”The rich get richer…the poor get the picture”.

    2. So the first home buyers are finally getting a go instead of the greedy pricks that went crazy a couple of years back and now find they owe more than the property is worth .Thats bloody good news .I note a lot of houses being listed are about 150k under what they were sold for in the FOMO rampage by greedy investors .Of course the banks are keen to lend to the first home buyers because they are the only people with the income to pay the loan back where as the the greedy are over commited so the banks cant lend them any thing because they are so negative geared already the banks are shitting them selves .

    3. So Trevor 71% of sales are not to first home buyers. That’s a huge number. By the way interest rates are on the way back up again. You are inferring the Coalition is actively trying to drive house prices down, which makes Luxon’s property sales a while back look like insider trading. The coalition’s contribution to lower prices and rents is more likely related to those with money losing their jobs and buggering off. Higher interest rates have weakened demand also but that’s RBNZ driven.

    4. Lots of claims, mangled use of the English language, zero evidence…

Looks like a lying toad, sounds like a lying toad.

    5. You nearly got it right Trev…interest rates are on the rise again and the economy continues to tank. There fixed that minor detail up for you.

  4. Bishop is yet just another dodgy silverspooner lawyer with very basic
cognitive ability to think outside the square….

If you think Penk doesn’t know fuck all about housing and construction… you are right…but this quy’s even worse…
Put a bolt through his neck and you get the picture.
Luxon reeeaaallly knows how to pick ’em!

Before politics he was a 2 bit lawyer for a fucking cancerstick company for-fucks-sake…that’s the only job he could get…. the lowest of the low.

Now…armed with trying to get cancerstick companies off the hook, Luxon’s put him in charge of solving New Zealand’s chronically overpriced undersupplied housing problem.

Yip ..a lot of crossover and relatables and experience there…

You couldn’t make this shit up even if you tried.

  5. This bunch of pollies are either playing with us and have disdain for the broad polity, or they are maliciously feathering their own nest where they can get in round our weaknesses and not only pick our pockets but steal the actual pocket as well. The parents of these reprobates should be tarred and feathered.

But hold on there – they are following the middle class values of working to better oneself and achieve good outcomes. Yes but, the old concepts of trust and honesty and ideas of fairness going alongside have vanished. Now there are 50 year old women hiding behind the old idea of the gender being moral with rectitude, but now embezzling large amounts from relatively micro employers. No-one, well fewer people, now are willing to limit themselves in their social ambitions of wealth and good times, ‘getting on’, being ‘deserving’.
