  1. This was not necessarily an “either” “or” situation, it merely suits some persons to frame it that way.

    It looks like a good decision, but it still shouldn’t be used to justify governments deciding what additives should be put into our clapped-out water supply. Nor should it be used as a precedent for doing so. I say that as a mother who lost babies prematurely, and in the knowledge that iron and folic acid prescriptions – free some places – were always routinely available to expectant mothers by their doctors before obstetrics became politicised, and highly trained medical doctors were squeezed out by the midwives.

Can we hope that, now we have expert medical knowledge present at the Cabinet Table, we will see some control on sugar, fat, and vaping. ‘Follow the science’ has proven to work for Covid – we need to trust the science on these things as well. We must stop allowing profit driven manufacturers profiting from causing others harm that ultimately becomes a needless burden on the taxpayer.
