  1. Well I’m firm on the never Biden camp. Bidens got dementia. I’d rather have Trump, Hilary, Pete, Goerge bush over some one who can’t even speak.

No Tulsi Gabbard is 38, she’s made of the correct stuff. She’s got all the intersectional points. I don’t think for one second Sanders did any of us dirty. If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have Tulsi. Tulsi will get her turn. She’s just the default option that ticks all the boxes.

    1. Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang were the standouts for me. I had dreams she could beat Trump.

  2. Of course he can’t win. The guy transparently has dementia and is going downhill fast. The Democrats are completely insane. A country with 328 million people and they put forward Hilary and Joe Biden. WTF is going on with them?

      1. My mum was taken by dementia. After it was all over I listened to a video-tape of her 15 years prior to her death. In full control of her faculties, she was a different person entirely, and that is as I want to remember her.
I heard a tape of Trump speaking back in his 30’s… totally coherent, complex sentences.. nothing like his modern simplistic, nonsensical ravings.

I think you have left an important candidate off your Dementia list, Sam and Orangemanbad.

        1. No, I think you miss understand me. I would rather live on the moon with a third less gravity than have a front row seat in apocalypse now.

Fucken, The Daily Blogs regular communist, Mr David Brown would be a million miles better candidate than Trump or Biden but Yknow Trump and Biden is who we’ve got to work with, and work with them we will.

  3. Most of the states that have held their primaries, and all the critical states that turned the tide have open primaries. That means that republican supporters can role up and vote in the Democrat primary and vote obviously for the candidate they expect to be the weakest in the presidential election. Some Republican based commentators esp on the pivotal South Carolina primary were gloating about the record turnout of republicans the voted for Biden.
Whatever Trump does he can’t loose this election now however much he might wish to. No crass stupidity or atrocity will persuade America to vote in Joe Biden as their president. The Democrat elite understand that completely. They judge it better to have trump for another term than Bernie Sanders.

    1. David Stone: “No crass stupidity or atrocity will persuade America to vote in Joe Biden as their president.”

It seems unlikely. I’ve seen Twitter traffic suggesting that many Americans recognise that Biden’s emerging dementia renders him unelectable. But then…..I remember Reagan’s election to a second term, when it was abundantly clear that he was losing his marbles.

“The Democrat elite understand that completely. They judge it better to have trump for another term than Bernie Sanders.”

Given what happened with Reagan, they are taking a bit of a risk.Though in fairness, Reagan was already President. In the current environment, Sanders is also unelectable, though obviously for different reasons: the Democratic establishment cannot support his policies, so he wouldn’t get the nod at the Convention.

However. A member of this household harbours hopes that Biden will be elected, because in their view, the Americans deserve him. Heh!

It is only US foreign policy which affects us here; but even on that score, we surely have done nothing to deserve him.

  4. Have been following this as closely as is possible from NZ, being a Bernie supporter. If anybody thinks that dementia joe and his perks for the boy is going to beat trump, they are as deluded as Biden.

  5. On the Joe Rogan podcast a significant number of Sanders supporters said that they would vote Trump. Biden will lose, which will be amazing, considering how badly Trump is handling his countries future at the moment.

  6. “Instead of the triumph of democracy and progress, we got violence, poverty and social disaster — and nobody cares a bit about human rights, including the right to life. I cannot help asking those who have forced that situation: Do you realize what you have done?” — Vladimir Putin addressing the United Nations in September 2015.

I think he was talking about life in Russia following the fall of the Berlin wall
Oh Yeah who was American president in 2015 Obama and guess who ws his VP

  7. Ike: “I think he was talking about life in Russia following the fall of the Berlin wall”

I remember that speech. He made it at a time of chaos in both the ME and the Ukraine, following US-sponsored regime changes. And in the case of the Ukraine, a violent putsch, also US-sponsored. Though he’d have been justified in referring to the godawful mess that was Russia on the watch of that old lush Yeltsin, when the neolibs and the oligarchs – ghastly types that they were – attempted to asset-strip the Russian people.

“Oh Yeah who was American president in 2015 Obama and guess who ws his VP”

Exactly. Many of us haven’t forgotten. Remember all that stuff about Biden and his son, and their involvement in the Ukraine? Yup: so do we. Hence my family member’s hope that Biden does get elected.

But on the bright side….thank god none of us will ever again have to endure a US led by that odious little creep Obama.

  8. “I still believe the only way of winning over the working class vote Trump hijacked with his negative populism of walls, exclusion and selfishness is the free education, free health positive populism of Sanders.”

I’m with Bomber on this. I have stated publicly on the fediverse (see fediverse.party ) that if Biden wins, I will eat my hat, and post a video of it on PeerTube. I’m quite fond of my hat and I’m pretty confident that it’s safe. I have to admit it will be amusing to watch the two dementia patients debate each, but I’m gobsmacked that the Dems didn’t learn from their mistake in 2016.
