The Privacy Commissioner says facial recognition technology in supermarkets has potential safety benefits, despite raising significant privacy concerns.

The Privacy Commissioner has this utterly wrong!

The power of the duopoly to impose facial recognition mass surveillance into Supermarkets its an outrageous abuse of power.

Supermarkets are a necessity, allowing them to import mass surveillance powers is an abuse of that necessity.

The Privacy Commissioner has utterly failed to protect our privacy and we can see where Peter Thiel is taking that privacy…

President Trump, Palantir’s possible partnership: What to know

President Trump and Palantir reportedly partnering for a centralized database

Palantir has four major projects where its software is used

The database could lead to fewer wasted tax dollars, faster services, and smarter law enforcement

…it is short sighted of the Privacy Commissioner in the extreme to think this real time face recognition won’t be expanded and used in real time by the authorities, something that is even freaking MAGA out…

Far right flips out over reported Palantir plan

Even far-right influencers are creeped out by President Donald Trump’s reported planto work with MAGA-friendly tech company Palantir on merging data on Americans from different agencies into a single location — a development that could lead to the federal government having unprecedented power to spy on, and harass, Americans. Newsweek highlighted worried responses from Nick Fuentes, the Hodgetwins and other influencers who are sounding the alarm.

…we can not trust Supermarkets who already price gouge us with something as Orwellian as face recognition surveillance.

Allowing Supermarket Duopoly mass surveillance powers is Peter Thiel’s wet dream…

For those who don’t know, Palantir is a CIA-backed surveillance and data mining tech company with longstanding ties to both the US intelligence cartel and to Israel, and has already been playing a crucial role in both the US empire’s sprawling surveillance network and Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.

This is being framed by the political/media class as a Trump policy, but it’s obviously a US empire policy. These sweeping surveillance powers are intended to remain in place long after Trump is gone, regardless of who happens to be in office.

…we are allowing forces to shape us via mass surveillance that we haven’t agreed to.

    • But that does not register, the staff must follow the camera info every time, even if you can prove it is wrong.
That is what has been reported in NZAO.

  1. Don’t shoplift…no worries!
FFS your on camera walking the streets, entering any business establishment and work place.
Making a mountain out of a molehill is not only wrong, it’s childish, political point scoring to suggesting the left have nothing to do with cameras, CCTV, surveillance and only the right is involved because I remember the dismantling and stopping if all CCTV cameras and bans of their use in private businesses from Labour….ohh wait!

    • The little left and the little right, fixate upon each other while the big people play. The adults roll out new fangled technology that the kids believe to be the same old cameras as before, even though the adults have concocted an entirely different name for their new tech. Smart little kid, I kid you not….

    • FFS IR why do you bother to come here? You are for the status quo with no new ideas – if we wanted yours we could just revert to default ourselves. Have you cut the grass recently, grown some veges and flowers, Done some social work with people so confused that anything you said which sounded sensible would be welcomed, plus a little uplifting help. There is the recipe for building a group of active worriers sort of what B Tamakis might be like.
Now there is an idea, find fault with that stupid thought.

      • IR usually makes more sense than some on this site who just write the same shit about the terrible Right and how under Labour we lived the life of Riley. None of their arguments say if things were so great why they got a pasting at the election. . The fact is they had a poor leader with little to offer except GST of fruit and veg .

      • Kim…no one said it was, people pointing out you are on camera day in day out when you leave the house!
I will repeat it for the stupid….everyone is being captured by cameras, why would facial recognition frighten anyone, if your not a criminal or shoplifter?

  2. “we are allowing forces to shape us via mass surveillance that we haven’t agreed to.”

Yep…we are allowing the ‘control grid’ to be built up around us, but that’s OK, because no one gives a fcuk. We don’t value freedom, we don’t value privacy and they, those forces you speak of do not value us – perfect synergy – for whatever they have in mind for us In the never ending fight between the powerful and the powerless – what is happening is Gaza is a prelude for what awaits us all.

  3. Happy for anything to cut down on the dickheads that I routinely see blatantly walking out of the supermarket without paying and often abusing staff on the way – like most people have sympathy for anyone who is hungry and has no way to pay for food but not those I see walking out with packs of eye fillet etc worth hundreds of dollars.
