Here we go again…
Family ‘blindsided’ after discovering meth contamination in rental home
A Christchurch family say they feel blindsided after discovering the home they’ve been renting for nearly two years is contaminated with methamphetamine residue at levels exceeding what’s considered acceptable in New Zealand.
…the meth testing grifters are back and with meth out of control landlords are freaking out their untaxed capital gain might get the contaminated tagline.
We’ve seen this bullshit before with the false meth testing hysteria promoted by Paula Bennet the last time National were privatising state houses.
The meth house is a myth: There’s ‘no risk’ from drug smoking residue, Govt report finds
A bombshell report shows there is no real risk to humans from third-hand exposure to houses where methamphetamine has been consumed.
This means tens of thousands of homes have been needlessly tested and cleaned at the cost of millions of dollars, with some demolished and left empty.
The study by the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor Peter Gluckman found that New Zealand authorities had made a “leap in logic” setting standards. Essentially, a standard used overseas based on what “clan labs” should be cleaned to was now being used as a trigger to start cleaning here, despite no real health risk at that level.
Last time we needlessly blew $100million on National’s fake meth testing hysteria that enabled their ex-cop mates to grift on supposed contamination and lo and fucking behold they are back for a new grift!
Last time, State Tenants were thrown onto the streets and had kids taken from them thanks to the meth testing hysteria!
What will todays new meth hysteria grift cost?
How easily led are you Kiwis?
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.
Notice the woman only started bitching after moving into the house even though all the signs were there before she signed the lease .Just another nobody looking for greatness .If she is so worried take off the fancy clothes put on a pair of rubber cloves get a bucket of warm water with a squirt of handy andy and give the place a clean .Or you could call in a cleaner who will rip you off for 10k to do the same thing .There is no fancy meth cleaning equipment required or special detergents .
You are a lefty self righteous person
Trevor you are a righty self righteous person, Can you refine yourself to ideas helpful to ordinary people trying to cope and have a settled community-oriented life that would be good. TQ>
also an ex commercial cleaner so have experience cleaning contamination.
Meth isn’t arsenic. You don’t die from exposure to it. It’s repeated long term smoking / intravenous use that wreaks your body. Prob no different than car exhaust fumes and we’re all “doing” that.
The residual problem is primarily due to the toxic precursor chemicals used in its manufacture.
So the government is going to look at compulsory meth tests for rental properties. Let’s watch Seymours red tape regulators put the kybosh on that.
I would have some sympathy if this was just a way to mess with a bad landlord, but, throwing out all their kids toys and clothes over this? Just blatantly irresponsible.
Agree MK. True not right, balance needed between bad landlords and wrecking tenants, reck-less is the word for with a new meaning for renters.
Plain fucken stupid .
Are you an idiot? If kids clothes and toys have been in a room where people are smoking meth any parent would throw them out. Who are you to tell someone whats acceptable for their own children.
MSM are desperate for an outrage story. Bit like Willis wearing a blue dress…not made by a kiwi designer who’s company uses fabrics and machinery made in Bangladesh. Or China.
If they really want to freak out, the house may have previously had Cantabrians living in it. You’ll never get that out of the walls.
Meth residue, does no harm, gives you a good kick to get shit done around the house.
