No, no, no!

Man who heckled Winston Peters under investigation by employer for ‘disruption caused’

The man who heckled Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters at a policy announcement on Tuesday morning is under investigation from his employer over the incident.

Winston Peters squared off with a heckler, in front of dozens of commuters, at his Government announcement for more than $600 million of rail funding.

Engineering consultancy company Tonkin & Taylor has now confirmed that the man involved in the incident with Peters was an employee of theirs.

In a statement, they said they are investigating in line with their code of conduct, but would not be making any further comment due to privacy reasons.

“At Tonkin + Taylor we take our responsibilities as a major New Zealand employer seriously. We do not condone behaviour that falls short of our code of conduct,” they said.

Your code of conduct should not stop a citizen giving a Politician their opinion.

He didn’t threaten Winston, he just mouthed off…

People stopped to watch the terse exchange between the pair which began when the man was heard saying “you’re a load of bollocks, Winston”. Peters replied “you look like bollocks, go look in the mirror sunshine”. Then the heckler replied “you’re a tosser”.

The pair started yelling at each other, with Peters yelling “naff off”.

“You’re 80 years old now, isn’t it time you naffed off,” the heckler responded. Peters replied: “So it’s an age thing, is it? You look older than I do”.

Then the heckler said “you lick Trump’s asshole, get out of here”.

…threatening a persons employment because they heckled a Politician isn’t acceptable in a country that values Free Speech.

Winston gave as good as he got, and we should actively push against the kind of spineless lickspittle grovelling Trump demands now.

Where’s the Free Speech Union defending this blokes employment?

I was always against the cancel culture Lynch mobs of the woke, I’m equally against punishing people for expressing their Free Speech to a politician.

  1. To the brave man that called out Winstone who is a hypocrite of the highest order her is what the company he works for has on their website. Now let us see if they stand by their company principles.

      • It’s never happened before Trevor and never will as they don’t incite outrage like Peter’s does.

      • Trevor Te Pati Maori are use to hecklers especially racists ones. One would expect higher standards from our deputy PM he should have ignored the heckler instead he provoked him. He is guilty of bringing our government and the position he holds into disrepute. He also is guilty of abusing his power and uses it to belittle people and get his own way.

  2. Winnie, the longest serving GRIFTER, standing in a busy, public place spouting his meaningless yadda-yadda-yadda for more egotistical reasons to serve himself what did he expect ?

The entitlement of being at a train station and oh so so important as to tell public to naff off. Someone going to do REAL work, struggling for income but hey just add another sub-human to Winnie’s long list of people to slander and eliminate?

Demonstrating too his hypocrisy about behaviour, childish man reverted to his innate pathetic flaws.

Poor Winnie when he gets to the Gates and meets the Peter, but has to stand in the same queue as all the undesirables he shat on life long ! Same toilets too, poor Winnie.

    No doubt,
the guy who accidentally forgot to tick his Pension form that he had a partner, was a lawyer and will fling insults and sue Peter. as well.

  3. While I hate to defend the ‘free speech’ ‘union’ rats, they have made a statement in support of the chap, which makes sense as he didn’t call out Winston’s support for genocide, his support for starving Palestinian adults, and his ridiculous lies about UNRWA helping Palestinian freedom fighters.

  4. Martyn – According to eyewitnesses the heckler pushed his way forward, and launched into a wave of abuse directed at Winston, about Winston…clearly the heckler is not managing with his life…

    • Going on your comment history it was probably a brown eye report that you heard. Winston is a conman so I’m surprised that we don’t hear many more examples of intelligent people setting the record straight instead of reporting Winston’s dribble.
I would be nominating the heckler for higher honors before anyone in the CoC team.

        • Yes, the slippery slope is good. No Luxon regime official should be able to open his or her mouth in public without being shouted down.

        • I can remember the flack that Muldoon took, a TV program often consisted of ridicule over his various plans yet he didn’t have the pathetic sort of response that Peters used. You call it a slippery slope although with Peters it’s more a case of getting what he deserved.

  5. We should get this free speech notion refined it’s FREE EXPRESSION” .
In law the NZ Bill of Rights, superceding other law, has been breached by Judeath and the Corps(es) of Priveledge Committee

” The right to freedom of expression is enshrined in the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990 (BoRA), which states (section 14): Everyone has the right to freedom of expression, including the freedom to seek, receive and impart information and opinions of any kind in any form.”

  6. The FSU has defended the heckler.
Perhaps they want us to believe they are not only in support of the Atlas network.

  7. Winston’s happy to sling mud in parliament at the Green member under privilege but the old codger can’t handle the media or his employer, in this case, the tax paying heckler. And it may not have been an age thing Winston but you certainly made it a “looks” thing. Daft old cunt!

  8. More bloody handwringing about sweet fanny adams.
Comrades the Regulatory Standards bill is upon us.
Humanity faces doom through climate change.
We live in an increasingly inequal society.
Aotearoa is not the invincible sporting power it once was.

  9. If you’re silly enough to wear a company lanyard when you are making political comments, you can only blame yourself. T&T work for any government and don’t want people thinking they employ opiniated people. His free speech wasn’t harmed.

  10. ” …threatening a persons employment because they heckled a Politician isn’t acceptable in a country that values Free Speech ”

That depends what is being said and who is saying it.

  11. Good on him. Good on you Mr Heckler. That fellow has balls and balls are what most of you need. Or a vagina. “Those things can take a pounding” , so said Betty White. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_White
Mr Heckler’s boss should give his guy a dozen good beers and a cake of good chocolate rather than get all hissy fitty for him facing down a cunt like peters. I mean, you do know that peters is a pro neoliberal Machiavellian confederate lawyer kind of guy, right? He should be running while screaming. Not standing there all striped up. Not standing there using sad old insults because he’s suddenly been pushed off-script by someone being a rare and genuine. ” Investigated by employer” What a load of pathetic shite. I’m still trying to find out what peters was talking to don about outside that Wellington Caf. I can tell you one thing; it didn’t look like it was about knitting patterns.

  12. Pity Mr Heckler was not more politically articulate, rather than just giving Winston a serve for being a tosser. Maybe he took it as read that many would know WP’s record anyway. Though, “you lick Trump’s arse” is pretty political and true given Winstons behaviour on tariffs and Israel etc.

Nonetheless the guy did nothing warranting dismissal until “someone” zoomed in on the lanyard.
