Jacinda faced death threats vs Nicola Willis getting called the c word – how the right gerrymandered the media into being pay parity victims

I find it very difficult to feel any sympathy for the offended Karen routine being played out by Nicola Willis and Brooke Van Velden at the invocation of the c word.

Watching right wing Free Speech Champions clutch at their pearls and faint from the horror of the mere mention of the word as these wealthy white women slash the pay parity of Māori, Pacifica and working women (and men) in roles long demeaned as ‘women’s work’ is an audacity too far.

Especially when you consider Jacinda faced weekly death threats.

I was surprised how the mainstream media (many led by Middle class women) joined in the nonsense with their focus on the wounded feelings of Brooke and Nicola.

There also seemed to be a grudge against Andrea Vance from those very same Political Media Doyennes.

Nicola and Brooke’s easily triggered modesty and Scarlet Lettering of Andrea Vance was apparently more important than the 200 000 working women (and men) who just got kicked in the balls.

There is no Government Economic Plan OTHER THAN to cut back on the State!

People are not appreciating how extreme and wide eyed a free market NZ Initiative fanatic Nicola Willis is!

She believes that if you cut back on the State, then the Free Market steps in and does the job ‘cheaper’.

The plan is to keep cutting into the State with all the frenetic passion of Elon Musk with a chainsaw.

Strangling off Pay Parity for the poorest working women so Nicola Willis can afford tobacco subsidies, more military, tax cuts and landlord loop holes is an obscenity.

Allowing pearl clutching over the c-word, and then blaming Andrea Vance for having the courage to say it that way it is some sort of strategic blunder is as pathetic as it is insincere.

The issue is the 200 000 working women and men paid billions less so a Free Market Stormtrooper can go romper stomper on the State. Pretending their modesty at the crimsons burning of their ears is somehow a justifiable response is Trump level gaslighting.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. Thanks for bringing some real perspective into the discussion, there was very little media coverage of the abuse Jacinda had to put up with and they seemed to take delight in encouraging it while you would think that the world was ending with the rabid reaction to Vance sharing of her real thoughts about the pay equity change.

  2. Lex Luxon started off Monday afternoon’s post cabinet press session by congratulating Ardie Savea being named Super Pacific player of the year.
That’s all we need to know about Luxons priorities.
Meanwhile pay equity had been axed whilst he takes a pay rise that is totally in his hands. The only thing Luxon has control of is the amount of bullshit he espouses to grow mushrooms.

  3. Luxon denied there was abuse of women in politics when Dame Jacinda resigned that’s how much he knows .

  4. Greedy people attract greedy people. Luxon ‘skirting’ the idea of MPs possibly having a small pay ‘haircut’ is typical of greedy people like them. (Did you see my puns?)

I’m a bit disappointed that someone, however righteous their indignation, gave the right an opportunity to divert attention from their Crimes against the People.
Vance and Co. might be correct but why let superior Willis and van Veldan find such an easy way out?
Taking offence is their only defense. They know that what they are doing is simply pandering to their donors.
It’s not good financial strategy. It’s weak and gross.

  5. Why has the media never published who was responsible for the worst threats against Jacinda?
Was it just crack-pots who have a go at anyone, or was there a definite political connection?

  6. Luxon. A self confessed faker until he makes it. How many houses is he invested in? How many homeless people are there? Who now owns anz, asb, bnz and westpac? Are they now the banks of our fiercest primary industry export competitors, the australians? Where does convicted pedophile ron brierly live? Does he still have influence over our politics?
Here he is. Former BNZ chairman Ron Brierley in 1987.
Lets find him and ask him?

  7. Thanks Squeaky, I don’t subscribe to the herald which might be my problem.
So, they do have political leanings and don’t obey the court system either, while making out it’s people like Jacinda who aren’t behaving properly.
Hypocrites and anarchists in other words, and probably a lot braver behind a keyboard than they’d be on the front line.
What long term repercussions for these guys?

    • You can see them coming a mile away Joy and the serial protagonists on this site are so easily spotted. They struggle with someone of Jacinda’s class and worldwide mana.

What long term repercussions for these guys?

      One of Mitchells new prisons.

      • One would hope they’d see the inside of a prison.

‘They struggle with someone of Jacinda’s class and worldwide mana.’
        Exactly.
Jacinda refused to acknowledge their poor behaviour. She rose above it and that really annoyed them.
I wouldn’t cross the road to see a politician but I admired her resilience. Usually, she managed to hide her distain and refused to lower herself to their level.
As for her ‘worldwide mana’. The present govt. would be the laughing stock of the world if the world knew what they were like. They are envious and it appears that much of the world is dealing with similar clowns of their own.

  8. Now we have the gerrymandering of Ministry of education staff being told their pay scales will be frozen for two years meanwhile Luther Luxon says he is okay with a 10 % increase. The man has no integrity.

  9. Jacinda is way too good for this shit country .The current lot prove that as there is not women in the current government that can match Jacinda as they are too busy destroying everything she stood for while shooting them selves in the foot .
