After Free Speech Champion Damien Grant pulled sponsorship of the Award winning political podcast ‘The Working Group’ because his right wing mates had a problem with my free speech, I am proud to announce a brand spanking new weekly Political Podcast, The Bradbury Group, proudly sponsored by Waatea News (Journalism you can trust) to launch live 8pm Tuesday on ROVA, YouTube, SkyTV and Waatea’s main Facebook page.
Each week we will interview a Political Party Leader 1 on 1 live and then open the debate up to a panel of pundits, politicians and political commentators for fierce debate.
Fourth Estate media is dying, The Bradbury Group will fight back.
Our first show is a pre budget special and we will be interviewing Chris Hipkins, leader of the Labour Party followed by a panel debate on the Budget with:
- Maori Party President John Tamihere
- NZ Herald Columnist Matthew Hooton
- NZCTU Economist Craig Renney.
The Bradbury Group – NZs best weekly political argument – 8pm Tuesday nights live.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.
Looking forward to the new political discussion….
All the best Bomber….
Awesome news.
So very awesome! Congratulations and thank you for saving this fantastic podcast for us all. And happy to see you are getting the support you deserve and glad to see Hoots on the panel too, clearly not everyone on the right is a dickhead. Be interesting if you named those disapproving “freespeach” libertarian friends Grants… So glad don’t have to see his face again. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Hear hear
Excellent start. This will be good listening.
Ka pai, my bro.
Some questions for Chris Hipkins
Will the Labour Party commit to defending public health?
Do Labour believe after-hours healthcare would be cheaper to run if it were brought into the public health system? And do they have any plans to do so?
If not, what are their plans to fund it? Cost (which National seem to have overlooked) is a huge barrier to patient access, What will Labour do about that?
With the retreat of insurance companies a future certainty in some communities, will Labour commit to replacing private insurance with a publicly-funded alternative? If not, what are they going to about it?
Moreover, how will they address soaring insurance costs which are driving up rents, rates and the cost of owning a home or business?
What will Labour do to quickly and significantly reduce the high cost of power?
How are Labour going to address the high and increasing cost of living?
What are Labour’s thoughts on the Green Budget?
Congestion charging and tolls, will they scrap them? If not, will they give low income earners exemptions?
AI, where do Labour plan to increase its use? Schools, heath etc…? And what are their plans for dealing with the relating job losses?
Is there any current Government policy they would undo right away?
Sean Plunket a must.
Uh, No Bob!
BOB troll, no wonder you’re fucked if you listen to him.
Good to see JT on board.
It’s good that you’re maintaining the outreach to those on the extreme right by interviewing Chris ‘can’t raise taxes on the rich, who cares about kids’ Hipkins.
Sets an alarm for 8:00 Tue
Please not a humourless left wing echo chamber.
” Don’t tell me that at least Labour isn’t National. We are well beyond that bad joke ”
Bomber don’t let Hipkins off the hook. He is never challenged and far to relaxed as leader of the opposition !
Is there such a thing in our politics these days ……..a leader of the opposition ?
How about a bit of Jack Tame instead !
This timely article from Against the current.
” Instead of embracing the ‘populist’ left approach of people like Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jeremy Corbyn, Hipkins has chosen to defend an unpopular status quo that is failing ordinary people. Incredibly, he thinks this is the recipe for election success. Perhaps he thinks he can repeat the election success of the Australian Labor Party, even though that had more to with the rejection of the hard right politics of ‘Trumpism’ rather than support for centrism ”

Even Steve Bannon understands the people’s desire for economic populism

Mike Hosking interviews of Willis and Luxon horn blower?
Chippy to remove gst from sausages rolls?
Way to go Bomber, the set up and individual structured point pieces were great, all in all, a by far better professional show.
