Labour defends raising column as C-word debate spirals

The Free Speech Right have become hypocrites and easily triggered snowflakes who have wallowed in self pity and become easily offended Karens pearl clutching at the C word.

While Chippy has apologised for causing a distraction by Jan Tinetti asking a question about the Andrea Vance column, he has hilariously come out as a bigger champion of free speech than the offended Right…

The coalition has criticised Labour for not calling out the column itself, with Finance Minister Nicola Willis taking aim at Labour leader Chris Hipkins directly for his past position of believing men should speak out against gendered abuse.

Hipkins said newspapers make editorial judgments about what they are and aren’t willing to publish, “and that’s a question for the editors and the people writing that material.”

…exactly!

Chippy defend a journalists right to write and speak truth to power, for all the grief the Left get as anti-free speech, when the rubber meets the road, Labour stood for free speech far more vigorously than the pearl clutching Right!

Where’s the Free Speech Union?

Long story short, if you don’t want to be called the c word, don’t be a c word.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. Andrea Vance defended herself well in this weeks Sunday Star–she said she was “sorry”–sorry that media and politicians focused on her statement rather than the “terrible injustice” being done to care workers, nurses, teachers and other underpaid women. She pointed out that she used the C word in the sense of those prepared to be a C***, she never said anyone was or is a C*** and neither did Labour. Free Speech for Act except when they do not like what is being said!

Brooke Van Velden will likely wear “cunt” in some form or another for the rest of her political career.

    • As Martyn alludes to, if you don’t want to called a c*** don’t look, act and talk like one.
Brooke would do well setting up her own high end fashion label “Cunt” based on her loathsome and heinous dress sense.
If her own label offends her, she could always call it Cnut or some equally clever variation of cunt in disguise.

    • well hows it going for you right now .When did Labour shut down any form of free speech when in government .This government prevents people speaking up just look at the fast track law which is going to stop people speaking up about protecting the environment and the recent scraping of pay equality .Then there is the scrapping of next years delivery of two very cheep state of the art ferries with something less quality and twice the price in 5 years time if we are lucky .Where was the right to discuss that ?

      • “When did Labour shut down any form of free speech when in government”

CovidCult from the “Podium of Truth” says hi

        • You prefer to believe non-experts, trump, anti-vaxxers of various stripes, those who do ‘their own research’ etc.
It was to simplify advice for those who struggle to make sense of lots of contradictory messages coming at them, especially in times of stress.
Ok, you understood what you had to do, you didn’t get covid. That’s great.
          Many weren’t so lucky.
The fact that so many lives were saved, surely speaks for itself.

          Think of a better example.

        • SO THE PODIUM WAS KEEPING YOU ALL INFORMED DAILY SO HOW IS THAT SHUTING DOWN FREE SPEECH .uNDER THIS GOVERNMENT HOW WOULD IT HAVE GONE .We would not have been informed of any cases or deaths and masks would have been banned along with vaccines and the border would be wide open to all .And we may well not be here right now.

        • What utter rubbish Frank. Saying you are they were the best source of information didn’t stop all the fucktards spreading bullshit.

  2. What medieval English people could have realised that a word in common usage would have such effect in the 21st century?
They did not have tea so it would have been a tempest in an ale jug.
Are we ever going to get back to the real topic of inequality of income for women? Of shall we get sidetracked into another quarrel about biological women versus transfemales?

  3. ” Chippy defend a journalists right to write and speak truth to power, ”
Great. So he’s ready to speak about the disease that was Labour’s arse fart; Neoliberalism then. After all, isn’t neoliberalism what this is all about? Precious Pansies stirring up cunt-word sludge to blur neoliberalisms 40 year old rip off’s? Never mind the pearls and let’s start clutching little rogers ball bag instead I reckon.

  4. Bring back Jacinda she actually cared about every KIWI not jus the 1% and would not have allowed this bill to have been rushed through for no other reason than covering the fact that Willis cant count past 3 billion .

  5. Didn’t you delete my comment? You may wish to look up what “free speech” means, because I suspect you don’t have a clue.

  6. The nick name ” Chippy ” distracts from the many failures of this guy. Somehow giving him a nick name is meant to detract from how appalling he really is and the party he leads.

Its contradiction in terms to call yourself Labour if you no longer support what that used to stand for.
