Yemen’s Houthi rebel media says 68 killed in US strikes on migrant centre
Houthi rebel-controlled media in Yemen said on Monday that United States strikestargeted a migrant detention centre and killed at least 68 people in the movement’s stronghold of Saada.
The US military has hammered the Iran-backed Houthis with near-daily strikes since March 15 in an operation dubbed “Rough Rider”, seeking to end the threat they pose to vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
The Houthis launched strikes targeting Israel and Western vessels in the Red Sea, in what they describe as solidarity with the Palestinians, since Hamas conducted the worst-ever attack on Israel in October 2023.
On Sunday, the military said it has hit more than 800 targets in Yemen since mid-March, killing hundreds of Houthi rebels, including members of the group’s leadership.
Earlier on Monday, Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah TV said US strikes had targeted a detention centre for African migrants and that 35 bodies had been “pulled from the rubble”.

This new hard right Government appeased America by immediately stepping up to help them bomb Yemen after the Houthi started attacking shipping lanes in solidarity with etc Palestinians.
The Houthi said they would stop attacking shipping lanes if Israel stopped its genocide against the Palestinian people, pretty fair deal, but of course we decided instead of telling Israel to stop their genocide, we will attack the Houthi instead.

And true to their word, the Houthis lifted their blockade of red sea shipping and ceased all military action until Israel broke the ceasefire.
But the idiots in our government can’t make the connection. In their minds the Houthis are bad people who are attacking shipping in the Red sea for no reason.
As well as sending a targeting team, We have sent a frigate and an Orion to this conflict as well. Allegedly to fight pirates and stop smuggling, Strangely pirates and smugglers were not a problem for us before Israel impose their genocidal total siege on two million Palestinian civilians in Gaza

Not hard to understand. Where people are detained is not necessarily their intended final destination. People transit through Mexico to get to the US, others through Libya to cross through to the EU. Those in the Yemeni detention centres are largely Ethiopians and Somalis heading for places like Saudi Arabia.

This is a very good question Martyn, however it does need refinement.
The NZDF has taken actions to hide their complicity in the zionist attacks on Yemeni civilians, while escalating the same. As confirmed by Valerie Morse’s OIA requests, their commitment to providing ‘targeters’ to the yanks to help bomb Yemeni schoolgirls technically ended January 31 of this year (after previously being extended without any public notice).
HOWEVER. Commodore Rodger Ward is now commanding ‘Combined Task Force 150’, a surveillance force aimed at attacking fishing boats off the coast of Yemen. HMNZS Te Kaha is taking part. I hope any sailors forced into participating in the genocide take appropriate actions.
