‘Professional failures’ led to killing of Palestinian medics in Gaza, says Israeli military

The Israeli military says “professional failures” led to the killing of 15 paramedics and first responders in an incident in Gaza in March, according to an investigation released Sunday.

The group – most of whom worked for the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) – were shot dead before being buried in a mass grave, sparking international condemnation.

The Israeli probe identified several failures during the incident, as well as breaches of orders and a failure to fully report the incident, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

The IDF said the troops did not engage in “indiscriminate fire” during the incident, but they opened fire on what they believed to be a “tangible threat” amid what the military called “operational misunderstandings.”

Well thank fuck for that, because here was me thinking the Israeli’s opened fire on Palestinian Ambulances and they then captured the Palestinians, tied their hands behind their back, shot them and then buried their bodies and the blown up ambulances in a shallow grave, making this whole thing a war crime.

    • Thats a joke surely when Israel could not honor the ceasefire for more than a couple of days .I dont see any news of Gazza attacking Israel but I see heaps of Israel destroying every single building in Gazza AND KILLING WOMEN AND CHILDREN DAILY THEN SAYING THEY ARE HAMAS COMANDERS .IDF members should be arrested on sight and executed for genocide and other war crimes .They should never be allowed to come to NZ either and their embassy should be shut tomorrow .NZ should be ashamed of our willingness to support genocide in gazza while we lambast China which is not killing 150k in a year .

As far as the colonists are concerned even Syria,Lebanon and parts of Turkeys belongs to them all based on a fictional character telling them the land belongs to them as far as the eye can see.   2. The so called ‘Professional Failure” was that they didn’t search the bodies of the murdered aid workers for recording devices, and the smears against the murdered aid workers made in Israel’s first investigation was disproved by video evidence.

    Now that this crime has been uncovered, will there be any consequences for Israel?

    We know from past incidents like this, that if there are no consequences for Israel, crimes like this will be repeated, but next time more openly.

    When Israel bombed hospitals they denied it. When evidence came out disproving this lie and there were no consequences, Israel continued bombing hospitals, but this time openly..

    When Israel prevented humanitarian aid getting in to Gaza, they denied it. When evidence came out exposing this lie and there were no consequences, Israel openly prevented humanitarian aid getting into Gaza.

    Will there be any consequences for Israel this time?

    Will Prime Minister Luxon and Foreign Minister Peters call the Israeli ambassador to New Zealand into the Beehive for a ‘please explain’?, (which is the very minimum they could do)

    And Israel gets the Green Light from from New Zealand to commit this crime again, in full confidence that there will be no diplomatic consequences from this country. (or any other US/Israel ally)

    Bombing hospitals, murdering aid workers, starving civilians is now how all wars will be fought from now on.

    Will Prime Minister Luxon and Foreign Minister Peters call the Israeli ambassador to New Zealand to the Beehive to ask him as a representative of the government of Israel to demand that the government of Israel permit the International Committee of the Red Cross to see Assad al-Nassasra and/or give a guarantee of his safety.

    Probably not, cementing their complicity in this war crime.
