The 6 month hate tour has ended, this race baiting political stunt has been killed off, it saw the largest submissions in NZ political history and it was a staggering 90% against!

While the Right were humiliatingly defeated and watching ACT slink out of the debating Chamber…

…or standing behind Police protection when protestors arrived…

…is wonderful, no one can pretend that ACT aren’t gearing up to make this a defining moment in the next election.

ACT is like cancer, they never sleep.

There are of course political winners and losers.

WINNERS:

Democracy – Newsroom reports that over 84 000 marched on Parliament and the 90% of submissions against the Referendum highlighted that this was a vast cross section of civil society who stood with Māori – Pakeha, Pacifica, migrant Kiwis, the disabled, the rainbow community, NGOs, Unions, Churches, academics – they all joined together to say ‘we see the Treaty as a unique aspect of our democracy and we refuse point blank to let Cracker renegotiate it and force that new interpretation upon the indigenous people of this land’. So say all of us!

Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke – Her passion, defiance and powerful Haka was seen over a billion times! If she is the future of Aotearoa New Zealand, we have hope!

Willie Jackson – Working class hero and Oxford Debating champion was kicked out of Parliament twice for calling David Seymour a liar to this face!

Chippy – Powerful speech and became the first Leader of a major political party to acknowledge that Māori never needed sovereignty

Māori Party – Have built a resistance movement of unparalleled power in NZ domestic politics. Have brought more voters who never voted into the electorate pool and they are ready to battle any of the other crazy ant-Māori, anti-Treaty agenda.

David Seymour + ACT – They walk out of this as winners. 30% of National voters and 50% of NZF voters support the Referendum, ACT have excited rednecks in a. way not legal in most nations. They know thanks to social media hate algorithms that the political debate will only get more foamy and spittle flecked. ACT are on their way to 15% at the next election.

LOSERS:

Chris Luxon – This entire hate stunt fiasco only happened because Luxon is so weak and was so desperate to become PM that he immediately folded to Seymour. He is ultimately the biggest loser for allowing it and for being too weak to stop it. When NZ needed moral leadership, the great Christian Primem M minister was no where to be seen.

National – They have bewilderingly burnt all the political capital and good will they had built with Māoridom for an awful and divisive Referendum. They are damned by their own redneck voters and despised by the middle.

Tama Potaka – the decision by National to not allow Minister Tama Potaka to speak against the Treaty Principles referendum was cruel and unusual torture even for the National Party!

Tama has eaten dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat after dead rat for the National Party and it’s anti-Māori, anti-Treaty agenda.

Here was an opportunity to for the Minister, the Māori voice inside National to denounce this terrible legislation and yet National refused to allow him to do that and instead let 2 back bench MPS speak instead.

How demeaning to Tama’s mana was that?

Labour should reach out and ask if he wants to cross the floor and join them!

NZF – Spare a thought for dear old Matua Winston, he’s being way more racist than David Seymour and he’s getting zero media attention! Matua Winston is currently attempting to eliminate all Treaty mentions in all our laws, yet he gets no love from the rednecks because they are too excited by David’s burning Cross. With David replacing Winston as Deputy, NZF need to keep attacking Benjamin Dole and starting wars on woke to keep getting cut trough to their reactionary and lunatic voting base.

PREDICTIONS:

David Seymour is far smarter than his critics believe, but he’s now most dangerous and insidious to the Right, not the Left.

He has managed to take the culture war ammunition from the woke and grow ACT from .7 to 8% but now his aim is the wider Political Right, not the Left.

David has a 6 month hate tour to turn the Treaty Principles Referendum Bill into our ‘Trexit’ and launch off the back of that a Citizens Initiated Referendum that Seymour actively takes to the  2026 election.

This is a major threat to National.

ACT have concluded that 20% of the electorate are foaming red neck banjo twanging cross burners and they are making a direct play towards that electorate.

That 20% is made up of a loose affiliation of different groups:

BASIC GROUP 1 – Rich landowning urban white Christians who don’t like Māori political aspirations but enjoy the aesthetics of the culture to not feel so white. The kids are totally in private schools and their names are ‘Apple’ and ‘Bruschetta’. Most aren’t sure what a Libertarian is. They are Professional with zero intellectual curiosity outside exclusive holiday destinations, no capital gains tax and some bullshit corporate meditation daily ritual to ‘be present’, which isn’t that tough when you can afford Lululemon and live in a leafy suburb mansion.  Their children, ‘Apple’ and ‘Bruschetta’ are members of the Young Nats and are fucking pretentious arseholes who openly refer to their parents as ‘Mummy’ and ‘Daddy’.

BASIC GROUP 2 – Chinese and Indian Migrants who don’t understand why poor people and the Māoris get welfare. These small business owners lust for political influence and see National Party local events as a chance to work business contacts while demanding to know why New Zealand can’t have the death penalty like they do back home.

BASIC GROUP 3 – Rich landowning rural Volk who don’t like Māori political aspirations and detest the aesthetics of the culture because it makes them feel less white. These are the ones who complain about Te Reo in the Weather report on TVNZ. They live in the South Island and believe the solution to every problem is ‘More Cows’.

BASIC GROUP 4 – Edgelord Culture War Boomers voting for ACT because of shrill definitions of sovereignty and democracy. Like Chris Trotter at a dinner party no one wants to be at.

80% of ACT voters support Trexit.

Almost 50% of NZF support Trexit.

30% of National voters support Trexit.

This group can be pooled into the 20% reactionary vote who will vote ACT instead of National or NZ First all because David puts ‘equality’ in his branding of this legislation.

The problem for National is this is their electorate ACT are intending to take.

As politics continues to polarise thanks to social media hate algorithms, ACTs appeal will grow, not diminish.

It is absolutely likely that ACT will soar into the teens and stay there, but it will be at a the cost of National and NZF.

This has the possibility of pushing NZF  under the 5% threshold while doom looping National into ever diminishing returns.

The positive news for the Left is that ACT cannibalising National and NZF while great for ACT will mean they simply can’t form a Government and Labour + Green + MP will be the majority.

PS – The ONLY official debate that happened between ACTR and Māoridom is still The Working Group – which you can watch here:

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. Bob, you’re dead right. This will run and run, it will fester across elections even unto the generations

        • It was an ACT poll.

However over 307,000 submitters to the bill of which 90 % were against the bill.

The bill was smashed and the country agreed it was a dogs breakfast bought in by a dog party.

      • Polling is taken over 1000 voters.
90 % submitters opposed the bill.
The right clearly aren’t great with numbers.
Oh you mean this right wing poll…

An ACT Party commissioned public poll on the Treaty Principles Bill shows a narrow margin of support for the contentious legislation.

The poll, run by Curia Research, records 39% of respondents supporting the passing of the Treaty Principles Bill, while 36% opposed and 25% were unsure.

Fuck your hopeless if you think a right wing poll that only 39% in favor was a win. Get a grip!

  2. Among the losers are the taxpayers of this country who have paid for this colossal waste of time and money.
‘So it must follow that anyone who supports Act are simply dumb redneck racist supporters’
    Nailed it Clive.

  3. Very few people are classic debaters and even fewer are cutting through. Everyone is throwing in adhom slurs and guilt tripping is all weaponised debate forms. Even seemore is guilting of inflammatory debating. Taken in totally, the pure number of submission for the against has taunted The ACT Party for life.
