Image leaked of Golriz Ghahraman during Pak’nSave shopping incident – now she wants an inquiry

  • The photograph shows the former MP in a Pak’nSave store while she was bailed up by security.
  • The leaker was urged by a blogger to post the image to a website notorious for inciting violence against women.
  • Ghahraman says those outraged by the leak should complain to police.

The blogger, Marc Spring, posted the image on his blog site under the headline: “From The River To The Sea I Want My Pak’nSave For Free”, mashing up Ghahraman’s support for Palestine with the shoplifting allegation.

Spring has posted 28 articles focused on Ghahraman to his blog over the past year.

He claimed in the post containing the image: “This site has obtained some security camera footage by a source (we have plenty more).”

In this instance, the image was within a text message from someone who claimed to have a copy of the store security video. The person sending it claimed to be unable to post it themselves “until she has been charged”.

Marc Spring is a filthy far right hate blogger who helped Whaleblog when Whaleblog was still a thing.

He was a spite merchant who has leaked this smear of Golriz.

The question now is who leaked it to Spring?

The cops? The private security company or the Supermarket?

How can images supposedly held secure by the cops, by a private security company and by the Supermarkets get leaked to a hateful spite blogger?

Doesn’t it say something of the power of the Supermarket Duopoly that they are able to film us using face recognition technology?

Why the fuck have we allowed them to have more mass surveillance powers than the Police?

Supermarkets and access to them are a necessity as a part of our food supply chain.

Yes shoplifters and abusive customers are not acceptable, but cutting them from accessing food is more unacceptable!

Using mass surveillance with face recognition technology to troll for all behaviour in public before Police attempt to use that as evidence is such an enormous over reach of power you can see why that aspect of the Police case was quickly shelved in case the public begun asking how the Police knew about the allegation and what legal processes they used to gain access.

Why have we allowed Food Corporations so much power, including filming us? They have an obligation as part of our food supply chain that goes beyond thieves, so why are we allowing them to use theft as a means to spy on us in their shops?

Why are we allowing the cops, the supermarkets and their mass surveillance company the ability to leak this to hate bloggers?

    • I hope you work in a restaurant bob1st you shine at stirring but somehow I feel you don’t do anything worthwhile requiring hands-on labour. Coming here is the high point of your life.

  1. It’s worse that the MSM has been showing the footage. Absolute bottom feeders.
She’s faced the judiciary, leave her alone.

  2. A few points:
-Lessons have not been learnt, when “crime scene cleaners Ltd” posted grizzly instagram photos in 2022.
-A search on the Marc Spring blog shows no stories about Tim Jago, surprise surprise.
-The leaking of PaknSave footage is probably mysogynist politcally racially motivated.
-The more that Police get sued for privacy breaches, the less likely they are to occur.
-The sooner a third supermarket chain can get going the better for all. Can the govt donate crown land to Aldi?

  3. Legal Precedent: The Sunday Star Times calls Ron Jorgensen a double murderer.
From prison Ron sues the Times for Libel. He is only convicted of one murder.
He wins his case and is awarded damages( I forget the amount now It is a long time ago).
A convicted murderer still has rights and even more so has Golriz. She was questioned, she was not prosecuted she was not convicted ( her previous convictions are irrelevant).
I am not a lawyer, neither was Ron Jorgensen but she is.
She should sue Marc Spring, A court case would reveal if it is the police, the security firm or the supermarket which breaches privacy.

  4. Jesus who gets their kicks out of doing something like this? It’s not about politics, it’s just being a bottom feeding scumbag and schadenfreude.

  5. Just shows how low NZ has fallen when some low life can get their hands on SECURITY tapes and sell them to the highest bidder .Even lower than that is the fact that tape becomes todays news because the person filmed is a refugee woman whom has done more for other refugees than the low life thief who stole the tapes and the lowlife publisher of the same tapes .
So now every person who has a conversation with security personal at a supermarket is a criminal tried by the court of public opinion .If the king or the PM were to stop and talk to the same security person would they be accused of being a thief ?I doubt it because they are white males .
