  1. Read this shit.

    Kia ora Dan,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out and share your thoughts and
concerns regarding ongoing disruption in Westport.

We are aware of the situation caused by the partial collapse of tunnel
sections close to Reefton. It is unfortunate that trucking has had to
occur but understand it has now concluded. The companies involved
should have communicated, consulted, and compensated seriously
    affected people.

We understand that as of January 12th, Tawhai Tunnel has reopened and
has been significantly strengthened which will hopefully prevent such
disruption from occurring in the future.

Should there be any further developments on this matter, or if there
are specific initiatives related to your concerns that we can assist
with do not hesitate to reach out.

Once again, thank you for your email.

    Kind regards,

    DAMIEN O’CONNOR

Thank you for your reply – Better late than never.

Yeah, the companies did nothing, the council couldn’t bend over fast enough to comply with Bathurst’s demands. I ended up with a sleep deprivation psychosis and spent the last three months sleeping on a mattress on the floor of my lounge – where I cook and eat, on prescription drugs to sleep, with thoracic and /lumbar spondyloarthritis, in a three bedroom home I own freehold and get no rates reduction for reducing it to a bedsit.

You let us all down through your inaction and let coal money shit all over the lives of residents and ratepayers of Kawatiri.
Thanks for the commiseration and all that, and yeah, it was fucking brutal. Sacrificed for dollars – Makes a life long lefty feel like a cunt. Any twat wanting to get elected to council or parliament is going to have to go on the record and say the people here are inconsequential and always second choice to the mines. Good luck with that.

The slogan for the next election is “It’s not mine town – It’s my town”. It’s not mine house – It’s my house, and it certainly isn’t mine life.
If you don’t oppose you’re for. Know your enemy.
    Dan.
