Andrew Bayly’s Born-to-rule-rich-prick Charm School

I’m loving this story so much…

Minister sorry after calling worker ‘loser’, allegedly saying to ‘f*** off’

A worker claims Minister for Commerce Andrew Bayly told him to “take some wine and f… off”, called him a loser and formed the shape of an ‘L’ on his forehead with his fingers.

…ok.

So the Minister for Commerce is at some function and he’s mucking around with the only worker at the event and makes a pretty flat footed joke towards the worker (probably because Andrew rarely ever interacts with workers)…

“When Andrew Bayly was introduced to me, one of the first things he asked was why I was still at work. His tone was dismissive, and he proceeded to say, ‘Take a bottle of wine and go home, go on, go home… take some wine and f… off.’

…ok, like I said, a flat footed joke that didn’t land, but no foul no penalty right?

Then it takes a really weird twist.

Andrew decides the joke was just the start and now does the L-on-your-forehead-loser- dance…

“What followed next was both shocking and humiliating. He called me a ‘loser’ repeatedly, saying the reason I was still at work was because I am a ‘loser.’

“He turned to the group of people with him at the time, including my boss, the Minister’s assistant, marketing staff, and employees, and formed an ‘L’with his fingers on his forehead.

“He then continued to call me a ‘loser,’ over and over, clearly trying to amuse the group at my expense.”

…what the hell is this? Open mic at the Stand Up Arsehole night?

I think we can forgive the Minister for a joke that fell flat, but then doubling down and calling the worker a Loser repeatedly followed by the L-on-your-forehead-loser-dance??

What the fuck?

The worker felt the Minister was drunk, something the Minister has been at pains to counter wasn’t true and that he was this much of a dickhead sober.

What it shows is the type of Born-to-rule-rich-prick attitude these Tories ooze. The smug certitude of superiority and mocking someone economically weaker than you, Bayley sums up everything the National Party actually stands for.

    • Exactly…they must be challenged, and stopped, at every turn.

This guy Bayly talks like a moron …he looks like a moron ..he acts like a moron….conclusion…he’s a moron.

Apparently he hasn’t met Luxon’s high standards of expectation. … but despite that..Luxo’s still okay with it.

Let’s remember….the benchmark for that standard, is Luxo supporting a National MP in to parliament, who clubbed smaller, younger, teenage kids, with a bed leg ,when at high school and then aggressively, verbally, threw a female flat mate, who he called ‘fatty’, out of a Dunedin flat when at university…

That’s an example of Luxo’s ‘high standards’ that he established from the outset…’right across the board’…’going forward’.

What a bunch of morally uneducated uncouth simpletons …The common herd are definitely in power at the moment…but not form much longer…

  1. A National MP NOT actually drunk at a winery? That would be news.

Meanwhile, MP Bayley seems extremely juvenile and immature.

I guess it’s another example of personal wealth getting one out of touch with reality.

Please, just one term or less, thank you.

    • The historical master slave relationship comes to mind, with a common serf being addressed by the aristocratic gentry. Did Bayley see himself as Ceasar at the Colosseum, but instead of the “thumbs down” sign, used the loser “L” sign. Would Bayley even be capable of carrying out the job, of the man he mindlessly belittled? Ceasar, Luxon, Bayley, all cut from the same cloth.

    • well yea. I’m toting up a list of people I need to piss on their graves if and when they expire before me. He just qualified. I imagine @ Countryboy, or whatever he calls himself these days has something a little more radical, but just watch. This self-entitled runt will be the first to scream VICTIM alongside a heap of them.
In the meantime, I defer to their more redolent farts (in this eco-system of fartings, going forward)

    • It’s easier to be bold if you’ve got burley security personnel. Ardern or Hipkins or even Key would have got rid of him, like he got rid of Aaron Gilmore. But the extreme arrogance incident of Gilmore towards a worker occurred in the 5th year of govt. Andrew Bayleys arrogance explosion has happened with the govt barely a year along. Shows what they think of workers, or is bottomfeeder the current terminology. Unlike Luxon, Key knew how to read the room, while Luxon requires his advisors. If msd were to sanction the Bayley misdemeanor, then his income would get cut by 50%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Gilmore

      • Todd. “ …shows us what they think of workers.” Yes. And if Bayley was drunk then he was even more likely to be revealing the sort of character that he himself is.

Decent people don’t refer to poorer persons as “ losers” and to do so to a fully employed man is despicable and even worse than Luxon’s silly “ bottom feeders “.

Unfortunately both men are too dim to realise how offensive they are and how divorced from mainstream society. Bill English’s disgraceful categorising young New Zealand males as useless druggies was another case in point and unbelievable at a time when their suicide rates were soaring tragically, and ripping families apart. They’re not the first politicians to show contempt for the voters, but they’re the lot in power now, and they’re behaving like pigs.

  2. If it wasn’t so serious it could well have been straight out of a “Little Briton” script and it just sums up the entitled attitude of this whole government being led by the biggest entitled prick Luxon

  3. Not really surprising this level of contempt. Its what the National party exists for , a home for people like Bayl , Willis , Luxon and the rest. This incident shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Some of the Hobbits wont be amused but it will quickly fade leaving a lasting impression.

” There’s a suggestion that Bayly was drunk; alternatively, it may just illustrate the attitude of Ministers on $304,300 salaries towards people who actually have to work for a living: they’re all just “losers” who should have become Cabinet Ministers. Whether either is the sort of behavior acceptable for a Minister is left as an exercise for the reader. ”

      • Mosa Marama has never apologised for saying that white men who aren’t gay or transgender are responsible for all the violence in society, and she was the Minister for Violence, not some newbie. Marama urging females to refer to their private parts as c…ts could also have gotten impressionable young women into embarrassing situations they didn’t deserve. At least this guy Bayly didn’t seem to be pushing any screwball agendas and might just be an ordinary old drunk.

  4. Don’t just include Tories in the entitled rich prick genre.
Peter, Jones and Seymour display the same arrogant attitude to those who they consider to be inferior under any measure.
Unfortunately we have a large portion of our people who regardless of their personal status applaud this type of behavior and attitude.
I have a neighbor who could be called an itinerant worker at best a dole bludger at worst who hates any coloured person but absolutely admires Peters and Seymour because they will sort them black c….s out.
He cannot see the irony of black c….s shitting on black c….s just so they can have the baubles of office.

  5. What those rich pricks forget its the so called losers that actually do the work and create the wealth for NZ .What he is saying is that the 500 multi millionaires are all good the other 5 million are losers .

    • Gordon walker. “Do the work “ and sometimes get injured, maimed, and killed doing it. Never forget John Key and/ or his mate Slater referring to bereaved Pike River people as “ ferals.” Remember that same kinky Key, excellent hair fetishist that he was, screeching away to get some guts and send other people’s kids off to fight in other people’s wars ?

      • Aunty what you say is 100% correct .I worked for a company which could not care about health and safety of the workers till the government implemented $500k fines for directors .Till then me as the supervisor was the one to carry the can with $30k fines and prosecution .

  6. Using a word like ‘losers’ to real workers shows us exactly where this Coalition of Chaos get it’s ideas – the American republican party. Let’s not call them the GOP, there’s nothing grand about them. They are white trash these days.
Here in Aotearoa/NZ the more money they have the more trashy they are. No self-control, no self-respect, no respect for real workers, no genuine Christian values, no professionalism, no sense, pig-headed beyond belief, no ideas beyond denigrating and showing contempt for everyone who, they perceive, doesn’t belong.
And the worst of all, happy to back a ‘leader’ who is useless, to save face.

  7. Dash it all! What is the world coming to when the feelings of some miserable hireling can be used to criticise a Tory Minister of the Crown?
Notice I said a Tory minister. Those disgusting, anti-capitalist swine belonging to the Labour/Green cabal should be permanently banned.
to allow those born to rule to take their rightful positions of authority.
Ah for the days when the sun always shone on the British Empire, when the lower orders knew their places and you could buy virgins cheaply.
This Bayly feller apologised? Dammit, didn’t he have a horsewhip handy?

  8. What a C U Next Tuesday. And of course, piss-weak Luxon just waves a wet bus ticket around.

Had it been a Labour minister, the MSM would be demanding a snap Election.

  9. Perhaps Bayly is jealous of Key’s charm. He thought that he could pull off a lame joke like pulling on a ponytail like a bellpull every time the worker went by (I think that’s what happened). But AB is not able to pull it off- fell on his nose. I’m thinking that these days we need to follow a winner like Muhammad Ali :
“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see.”

  10. Years ago as a worker, a wimpy political clown saying that, half tanked deserves a slap, no matter his protection squad, i would have obliged.

  11. Bayly is another of the entitled National landlord class. His main role is to weaken the lending rules once again, and get the fomo property speculation game back on track.
Of course he has an apartment in Wellington, just like his boss did. Nice little accommodation allowance earner on the taxpayer.

  12. What is so lighthearted about referring to someone you’ve never met before, a “loser” and telling them to f#ck off and then do a ‘L’ sign on your forehead? I totally agree with @ Gordon Walker and the others above. Bayly personifies everything nasty about the current coalition – including constantly putting down and mocking others they believe are beneath them.

@Gordon Walker – the media are not baying for his blood because they are the PR wing of the current government especially TV 1 News, and especially Maiki Sherman. If this had been a comment from a Labour Party, Green Party, or Te Pati Maori Party, Luxon, Seymour and even Winston Peters would have demanded a Royal Commission of Enquiry and looked at bringing in hate speech laws, such is their own toxic venom which reflects the venom of their brainwashed followers.

  13. It’s ok the PM is on to it. When asked about Bayley Luxon commented “ what I would say to you is, I can’t take my hand off it”

  14. Unusual. He pronounces unreservedly as unreservably and doesn’t have great communication skills at all. His deeds possibly speak louder than his words? I would have written him off after 10 seconds.
