They join Māoridom who initiated their protest as soon as this hard right racist climate denying beneficiary bashing Government formed.

The true demarcation of power in a capitalist democracy is the 1% richest + their 9% enablers vs the 90% rest of us!

Taxes targeting the richest while fully funding universal services WHILE lowering the tax rate on the middle classes, working classes and beneficiaries.

The political left have to champion a larger capacity State that acts in peoples interests, not against them for donor interests!

The Political Left have to articulate a different set of political values based on economic solidarity and material well being of people’s existences as citizens and as human beings.

It is working together on these Shaky Isles that is our strength and future, not against each other.

We need an articulation of vision from the Political Left that builds rather than throw society to the vagaries of the Free Market!

I’m not looking for socialism here folks, just basic regulated capitalism mixed with social democratic policies!

We have run out of time to stop climate change, we are in an age of consequences and the longer the denial, the harsher the adjustment.

The Left not only need to win 2026, they also need to have an agenda ready to immediately begin or the change that occurs after that is unforgiving.

  1. I can remember even before the lead up to the election that right-winger/bigots were claiming that Maori representatives are the elite and they’re the reason for maori poverty because they haven’t shared the measly payouts to their people???

Buhahaha keep the jokes coming lol

  2. If we could get some truth in reporting government statements would be a good start, we hear Simeon Brown blaming the stop to selling exploration permits for the current power limits however exploration was never banned in the existing permits & even if new blocks were allocated the gas would not have been available yet. Coming from a government whose earliest actions included stopping any investigation into energy storage in Lake Onslo this shows that they only know how to milk the existing assets for profit & do intend to plan for the future if if will reduce profits. The power companies’ maintenance issues show the same attitude, airlines do preventative maintenance to ensure that planes keep flying, we have WOF & COF to maintain basic standards with the vehicle fleet yet power companies obviously sweat their existing assets for as long as possible since consumers being short of electricity is not a cost to them.

    • Yes Bonnie great expression ‘milk the existing assets’. Too true, and that includes us as even though being so (negative description) we still have a use for the dominant erectile homo sapiens who have become a vicious little cabal with simplistic, easily led hangers on that claim precedence over all.

      • we need to bite the bullet and I know it’s a big ask for the greenies and build more hydro NOW because comparing the damage of new dams and ‘back to coal’ is a no brainer sometimes damage minimisation is the way we have

But will they? Can you really see this happening? Neo-liberalism lite & knob twiddling isn’t the solution.

    • In 2017 they had no plan after 9 years of opposition so what is different now .Their leadership was weak then until Jacinda took the reigns and their leadership is weak now but this time there is no Jacinda in the ranks .Parker is their best bet.

      • I certainly haven’t seen anything new from Labour and would considered them even weaker than they were before Ardern took over the leadership. Is there any new hope there? Or is Labour still on life support, having lost a number of limbs & suffered 3rd degree burns to 30% of it’s body? Do we even have proof of life?
