Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. To have regular lives with play as well as work, sickness diminished and treatable, youth as time for sports and fun and generally satisfying life, the reins of power need to be transferred from the wealthy and twisted, to ordinary informed and practical citizens who are interested in living to reasonable guidelines and controls. See how the lack of it is spoiling conditions for century old contests that people enjoy, and show modern systems are sinking the boat!

The UK has combined sewage systems which mean rain and sewage share the same pipes, so if there is too much rain, sewage treatment works can be overwhelmed. Sewage is spilled into waterways to prevent the system backing up.

Mixing sewerage and stormwater might have suited once been a good idea, but when populations swell of people who can’t be bothered to learn the rigid laws of managing health and sanitation, then germ spread and fatbergs build. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatberg

  2. Sounds interesting Germany’s approach to cannabis relief.

We need to watch and learn seeing we aren’t capable of doing anything intelligent for ourselves in anything. Our problem is we are artists – wish artists or piss-artists and which way things turn out is in the laps of the gods if we are lucky enough that they look our way.

What will be the outcomes would be a good question, and is there any real reason we cannot draw up a plan, allow for Murphys law, and give it a decent budget and monitor and enumerate results for a set period. Then a meeting and within a year another test with some changes for better outcomes etc etc. And nothing works all the time or even most of the time to 100%, so decide what percentage constitutes a success say 75% and what is to be tested and reviewed to establish satisfactory.

  3. NZ Unhinged – the hinges are/have falling/fallen off.

…The college cited data from Health New Zealand-Te Whatu Ora showing there were 7125 assaults against public health employees recorded between April 2021 and April 2023.
Doctors said EDs could be stressful and chaotic at the best of times because of the nature of acute medicine, but the growing number of patients in mental distress or under the influence of drugs and alcohol, severe staff shortages, and ballooning waiting times were creating increasingly unsafe and explosive environments…
