Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Tried to view some stuff articles about nz listed on google and got blank page. Is this the latest great tech advance gone wrong? Making our country’s information available free and factual should be the direction.

The local Chair Fulljames has a finger in a lot of pies including Wairoa subdivision.
It seems that local people cannot offer to work on the hall if they want to keep it, apart from the point of it being theirs by moral right if the gifted land and building are no longer required.

  2. This on our struggle against diseases and our food supply. Also thinking of the potato disease and its effects. https://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/irish-sweet-potato-diseases/
The market rules = cheapness reigns.

While cheap tomatoes may be good news for shoppers at the checkout, low prices are hurting returns for the country’s growers.
It has been a bumper crop with good volumes and quality for the country’s roughly 120 commercial tomato growers this season.
But after a third season without being able to export to Australia due to a pepino mosaic virus, or PepMV, outbreak in 2021 – there has been an oversupply in the domestic market, depressing prices…

Are we going to be broken economically from viruses that we have exposed ourselves to from all this previously unknown travel and importing? Myrtle rust seems ubiquitous or is it just the drought.

My grandfather died early in the 1900s from flu or something being carried to the Pacific Islands on missionary ships taking supplies to help the poor Pacific people who didn’t have our advantages. Many of them died from a strong strain of disease, and he did too, as the engineer on the mission ship and was buried at sea. But learning about viruses and the spread of disease rarely gets through our heads and stays.

If we do learn something, or record it for deeper experienced knowledge a populist know-little says What we worry and can chuck it as happened in Canada. And gross populism can go deep down with less than elite people elected.

I guess that is a problem in a democratic country with constantly changing systems as the progressive businesses want. Ever served on a local community committee? You work at volunteering on a non-profit organisation to do good, bring in some systems, step down
or get voted out and the new people swan in with their individual, new ideas and trash half those that have been up and working and ignore the discussions on problems and decisions made, on which hours have been spent.
