The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog, 3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.
EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

This could have been worse.

He’s right, just another day in NZ.
Lord Voldemort rises again. Roger Douglas in his 80’s regurgitates. https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL2307/S00031/on-sir-rogers-lament-and-the-commonwealth-games.htm
Gordon Campbell
…Douglas, 85, has reportedly penned a 22 page letter of complaint about how the ACT Party of David Seymour has strayed from the one true path and has quote, “lost the plot” unquote…
Here are some last words from Tony Benn UK that would actually be informative and useful.
We are not just here to manage capitalism but to change society and to define its finer values.
.
Britain today is suffering from galloping obsolescence.
.
I’ve made every mistake – but mistakes are how you learn.
.
I think there are two ways in which people are controlled. First of all frighten people and
secondly, demoralise them.
.
The Marxist analysis has got nothing to do with what happened in Stalin’s Russia: it’s like
blaming Jesus Christ for the Inquisition in Spain.
.
Hope is the fuel of progress, and fear is the prison in which you put yourself.
.
Five questions for politicians: 1. What power have you got? 2. Where did you get it from? 3. In whose interest
do you exercise it? 4. To whom are you accountable? 5. How can we get rid of you?
.
I’ve got four lovely children, ten lovely grandchildren, and I left parliament to devote more time to politics, and I think that what is really going on in Britain is a growing sense of alienation. People don’t feel anyone listens to them.
Tony Benn
More thoughtful quotes:
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Albert Einstein
and
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
Wayne Dyer (The Father of Motivation , think of yourself as god! Bit heavy, to look at?)
and
Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. George Bernard Shaw
and
We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses.
Carl Jung
and
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Frederick Douglass
(And Douglass knew well about this.
He taught himself how to read and write. …
He helped other slaves become literate. …
He fought a ‘slavebreaker’ …
He escaped from slavery in a disguise. …
He took his name from a famous poem. …
He travelled to Britain to avoid re-enslavement. …
He advocated women’s rights. …

I’d vote for Fred Douglass rather than Roger Douglas the Dodger. ‘Right said Fred’.

https://wellington.scoop.co.nz/?p=153754Why We Need Lower Not Higher
The subject needs consideration. I haven’t read the article but I have definite opinions about height and design. I think it is important to think of the human impact of inadequate housing.
Yes duplex housing in the city. But going up high is bad – no. That was found a long
time ago but today’s child-adults can’t learn stuff from the past! Over three stories an escalator is needed for infirm people and tradies with materials and carrying up furniture. But go above 5-6 stories the escalator is a chokepoint. If it breaks down, or is colonised by unpleasant things, people can be put off leaving their homes to participate in normal life. People getting far from ground floor start to become isolated, also children will be. It upsets socialisation and community and enables malicious behaviour against vulnerable residents.
