Is this Marama’s Metiria moment?

Poor Marama, as she was trying to argue white cis males cause all the violence in the world, a Trans gun person (I’m not sure what the pronoun is for a mass shooter) opens fire and kills 6 in America.

From One to Alanis Morissette, how ironic is that?

‘Some resentment’ may have fuelled school shooter’s attack, says police chief

A heavily armed 28-year-old has fatally shot three children and three adult staffers at a private Christian school the suspect once attended in Tennessee’s capital city before police killed the assailant, authorities said.

The motive was not immediately known, but the suspect had drawn detailed maps of the school, including entry points for the building, and left behind a “manifesto” and other writings that investigators were examining, Police Chief John Drake told reporters.

Adding to the irony was the claim that Saturday was ‘Pure Trans Joy’ when many were left asking, ‘who was in danger on that day’, because it wasn’t the Trans community.

Will this identity politics meltdown hurt the Greens?

Notorious white cis male and Stuff Political Reporter Luke Malpass will be cancelled for the following…

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

Davidson’s comments were made at a protest opposing women’s rights activist to some, and anti-trans activist to others, Briton Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull. They ignited a political stoush around laying the blame for domestic violence at the feet of one particular group.

Hipkins, for his part, has tried to play a straight bat on all of this. He sacked Nash within a couple of hours of hearing about the latest chapter in his loose approach to cabinet rules.

And while vigorously disagreeing with Keen-Minshull’s views, he also denounced the violence at the protest which resulted in her leaving the protest and exiting the country. National has called for a review into why police couldn’t keep the protest under control.

But Davidson’s comments – made three hours after being hit by a motorcycle – did ignite a debate that continued in the House on Wednesday. Hipkins said that she was factually incorrect but that she had apologised to him – although she hasn’t publicly to date – and wanted to move on with life.

The fact is that Hipkins needs a fair few “cis white men” to vote for him and doesn’t want to be anywhere near on the side of gross generalisations about their proclivity or otherwise for domestic violence.

He is also clearly keen to put some daylight between Labour and the Greens on these matters. Labour wants to be about bread and butter and helping families get ahead, while the Greens are off fighting culture wars of little interest to middle New Zealand.

On the Twitter left, all sorts of people are getting cross with Hipkins for not lining up with Davidson and, basically, being balanced on these issues. It may be an article of faith within certain sections of the left that white straight men and their supposed privilege are to blame for a big load of society’s ills, but that is not a view shared by the wider electorate.

Hipkins is a Labour centrist and, despite not agreeing with Keen-Minshull’s views, he defended her right to come to New Zealand, as well as free speech more generally.

David Bromwell at Stuff, (another notorious white cis male who must be cancelled) had this to say…

In a free and open society, and in accordance with international human rights law, we have a right to protection from violence and from speech that intends or is imminently likely to incite violence and acts of hostility or discrimination.

But we do not have a right to protection from disagreement, criticism, satire, offence or hurtful comments.

Of course, words can hurt, but they do not hurt in the same way or to the same extent as sticks, stones, fists, knives or guns.

Words are not weapons. Words are what we use instead of weapons, to express disagreement and assert our claims as we negotiate how to live together despite our differences, under the rule of law and without recourse to violence.

If we equate words with weapons, we risk weapons being seen as no worse than words.

…and finally ANOTHER evil white cis male, Sam Clements makes the devastating point

Those disruptive Posie Parker protesters who opposed her presence in Aotearoa, and who have been congratulating themselves over their raucous, aggressive, bullying behaviour, ought to navel gaze a little and look up the definition of hypocrisy.

Don’t preach love, tolerance and respect, then brazenly do the opposite. It’s not a one-way street. Dignity and self-control, whatever the circumstances, matters.

Issues such as gender identification, queer expression, restroom access, puberty blockers and the like are not simple ones. Pretending they are ignores the complex interplay and influence of cultural perspective, philosophy, theology, gender identification and human biology and physiology.

They’re issues with a wide range of views and opinions across the spectrum. They’ve ignited debates of all sorts of hues across cultures, countries, communities, and social strata.

I’m not a fan of this woman in the slightest. She’s coarse, rough, borderline maniacally obsessed, and often acidically offensive.

Repeatedly, for example, referring to trans women as men is inflammatory, crude and callously dismisses the deeply profound and complex psychological and endocrinologically mediated potency and realness of gender identity, and seeks to further marginalise. It was hardly necessary to openly state an underlying genetic and chromosomal reality.

Equally, spreading fears of masses of marauding men identifying as women assaulting women in their restrooms is not supported by any statistics, and is frankly barking.

But she had a right to speak. She was never going to incite harm or hate for the transgender community. The attempt to block her entry to the country was frankly embarrassing.

Instead, a hornets’ nest has been stirred online of many incensed at Parker’s treatment. What could have been a storm in a Royal Doulton posy cup has become something else entirely. It has rightly ignited debate over the protection of the right of free speech, and over Parker’s positions.

And it’s paradoxically the latter that really could be weaponised to the detriment of transgender people down the line. It risks tarring and homogenising an entire “group” with the same brush: that it’s pushy, demanding, intolerant, absolutist, and greedily detached from “reality” in its demands.

Too readily those opposed to, or who question, trans demands, are accused of “hate speech”. The term is grossly overused, often misused and loaded. It’s often employed by individuals or groups who appear blissfully ignorant of the concepts of irony, paradox, cliché, and hypocrisy.

…so is this Marama’s ‘Metiria moment’ when Metiria bravely spoke truth to power over the manner she was forced to break welfare rules, only to have the entire thing implode on her because no one had thought two steps ahead and had actually paid for the costs before she admitted the breach.

Marama’s sin here is less structural than Metiria’s, she hasn’t breached any law, but she has needlessly created an enormous stick with which the Political Right will use against us until the election.

The violence at the protest was one thing, Marama blaming white cis males for violence (when it was the trans protestors who were being violent) is another…

…this all adds up to an intense sense of hypocrisy and nothing kills Political movements like hypocrisy.

The reason why peaceful protests work is because they provide you with the moral high ground, the Left lost that on Saturday and we will all watch the next polls with trepidation.

Fingers crossed NZ didn’t notice any of this.

  1. How ironic…

The greens leader a week ago warned of the danger of violence before the election. We then saw political violence to suppress dissent.

Another greens leader tells us that straight white men cause violence. We then have the horrific school shootings in the USA. The perpetrator is of course a…. Transgender person

  2. The mask of aroha slips and reveals the hideous visage beneath.
Marama’s “indiscretion” was nothing new or unexpected or dredged up from the distant past. This is her. I think, as do many I suspect, that anyone filled with toxic resentment and hate shouldn’t be anywhere near the levers of power. Same with Waititi & Co. and regardless of the cause.

    • More proof that the out-of-touch Greens will never be able to replace the Labour Party, or any of the other major Third Way parties.

The voters of the world hardly want yet another party of chattering Wall Street liberals, especially when any such parties already existing had no real popularity in the first place.

The rising global strike wave has virtually no support from major political parties. All those current and former union members need to go somewhere, and that will inevitably be new political parties controlled by them.

  3. Let it be remembered that Posie Parker did nothing but state a few indisputable facts that the majority know to be true.
The trans militants, the media and the government particularly Marama did the rest.
The results- Having particularly long term old school lefty Greens walk, potentially drag Labour down with them and hand the election to ACT (anti woke) and National (woke lite)
If that’s what it takes to cauterize the cancer of woke dogma so be it.
Sometimes you have to destroy the village to save it.
However, like chemo there will be massive unpleasant side affects for this country.

  4. Turei was a qualified lawyer with a profession to which she could return. Davidson appears to be little more than a racist misandrist, qualified for nothing but advising commissioners about the politics of hate. She may have to stay in Parliament, or join the ranks of the deserving unemployed.

          • Nathan, very much and I can’t see how calling ‘white cis male perpetuating most of violence is a racist statement??? Maybe an inaccurate statement depending on the context if she left out the Cis than historically and globally she isn’t far from telling the truth.

            • @Stephen are you saying if a National Pākehā politician said the same thing about Māori-cis-males you would only see it as inaccurate and not racist?

            • Incidentally your comment about removing the ‘cis’ arguably stands only from the periods of European colonisation onward. Even if you include the Crusades, history is replete with empires of non-white men from Asia to Mesoamerica (Ghengis Khan et al) every bit as bad as the worst excesses of European colonisers. Even in the 20th Century the likes of Mao and Paul Pot make the worst Europeans (except Hitler and Stalin) look like rank amateurs.

              • I appreciate your attention but it gets a bit creepy like how Bob the first was initially stalking me until I told him to fuck off. The European colonization cause more death and destruction than Chanis Khan and Cyrus put together. Their legacy is gone European exceptionalism is still here like Iraq, Vietnam, Korean war, Palestine, Ukraine etc… And the weapons employed are more deadly than horseback riding spear throw arrow shooting Mongol hordes. There isn’t any comparison

    • Hmmmm… She admitted electoral and welfare fraud, hardly lawyer type of behaviour?

Not sure if the Law Society would have approved of that.

  5. 1.Media frenzy caused this to happen, they did this to keep Wellington feeding them funding they should have their funding cut

    2. lack of police force enabled the protesters to assault the women who were there to hear Parker speak .

    3. The utter hypocrisy of green mps attacking women and blaming biological males that are white for violence whilst claiming this protest was about “love”

    4. The gutless pathetic response from Hipkins not to sack Davidson as a minister and call for Swarbrick and Ghahraman to resign has shown he cannot lead a country.

The rainbow facist party aka the Nz Green Party have cemented their electoral results

      • Gus. The post-WW11 period of the 50’s and 60’s was a fairly good time. Income from the sheep clip on the back of that and of the Korean War was good. Our people participating in those awful events had seen the world. We had a free press, a good quality education system, and were less parochial. Late 60’s post the European hippie revolution, we started regressing, then along came Roger Douglas.

        • Economically the 50s and 60s was a good time, but it wasn’t so great for women, LGB people or Maori and Pacific people. After that all these groups made some advances. But in more recent times some in these groups have lost the plot while economic inequalities have grown.

And if this continues, the backlash that comes will be bad, especially for Rainbow people.

          • Karolyn, so true this Hollyhock of the Valley is only resonating white peoples utopia blissful existence. They live in a dreamy world but this European exceptionalism is on its way out regardless if ACT/Nats get into power.

        • Hollyhock of the Valley, Your only talking about Pakeha living the good life after WW2 etc…

Maori that fought in WW2 didn’t fare so well and the racial discrimination towards my father who fought in Egypt in 1941 when attending his local RSA is another example of a racially divided country that you so long for.

There has been a huge push to have Maori members of the 28th Battalion recognized for their bravery and that only happened late last year at Rotorua’s Te Papaiouru Marae.

You’re telling a pakeha man story of a blissful utopia NZ that didn’t exist for Maori. You’re living in a bubble echoing your own (european) sentiments not Maori.

          • Stephen. Not really. I returned here after living in the northern hemisphere and found it parochial, narrow-minded and like stepping backwards in time. The gap between recognised genders was and still is sobering, poverty and homelessness visible. Never experienced bliss and accept that many others do not.

      • Before this dreadful inept Labour Government came to power we had New Zealand,we now have violence, hate and racism,a country divided.

  6. The Tennessee shooter who slaughtered little primary school children and the brave teacher who tried to protect them, is a graphic example of how the sex and gender ideology clumsily embraced by the Green-lead government may cause havoc in immature young hearts and minds. Thoughts and prayers for those parents whose lives will never be the same again.

    • It’s a clear example of power. A lot you sit at home mocking transhumans. I know I do it. But there’s nothing we can really do when a transhuman has a gun except call the police.

We think it’s tough to throw daggering words but it’s not. Tough is hearing bullets go off and bring shit scared but not caring and head towards the loud bangs to end a threat to life and liberty.

      • Stephen Wrong. She was a biological born woman who decided to act as men do. If there are any male leaders in New Zealand who care about our tamariki, then kindly do them the honour of naming them.

    • There have been 130 mass shootings in America so far this year alone Snow White Can you tell me how many are the result of sex and gender ideology clumsily embraced by the Green-lead government that may cause havoc in immature young hearts and minds. You have given one example because it was in mainstream media to attack the Greens. Pathetic.

        • Most would be black, male and under the age of 30. The definition used for a mass shooting (for the 130 this year figure) is a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed. The bulk of these shootings are gang related, drive-bys etc

            • Actually he’s correct, most school shooting are committed by white males, but as they have a broad definition of what a mass shooting is, it captures a lot of gang shootings committed by black & Latino gang members, and there an awful lot of drug related gang shootings in the US, hence the high levels of gun violence in cities with strict gun control laws (apparently criminals don’t obey laws, who knew).

      • Gus. Of course not, but I can suggest that it is males of all ilk who have normalised using physical violence instead of words, to address what they see as their problems. We witnessed that in Albert Park on New Zealand’s day of shame.

              • Really, spray little children with cold water in the middle of the night?
Blasting loud music all night to deprive young children of sleep?

                • Really, throwing gas cylinders on fires they had already started, burning down a children’s playground, stopping pedestrians, traffic, and businesses going about their daily lives, seriously Bob, you are an idiot.

            • Those Parliament protestors did want to speak, but none of the major political leaders wanted to listen to them.

PM Ardern advocated censorship of speech to the UNO, and we saw that being carried out at Albert Park last Saturday, enabled by His Majesty’s coppers.

  7. 6 people dead, including 3 children – more love from the transgender community.

Closer to home, transgender Toko Shane Winter also tortured and murdered a teenager in NZ. Police went to scene and for what ever reason (no surprises after seeing the Speak up for woman and lack of police action there) the teenager did not seek police assistance. Inconsistency of police is becoming a big problem.

“Toko Shane Winter, 29, and Kerry Te Amo, 26, are in the High Court in Auckland this month accused of murdering the 17-year-old.

Miss Winter, a 29-year-old trans woman, has admitted kidnapping the teenager but denies the murder charge, while Mr Te Amo denies both kidnapping and murder.”
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/398171/auckland-teen-was-kidnapped-and-tortured-court-hears

Apparently the transgender person who threw juice over the speak up for woman speaker has gone to Australia – so no police charges then.

The 70 year old lady that was punched twice at the rally doesn’t seem to have any justice as haven’t heard of any police arrests.

Meanwhile the man who punched James Shaw got a jail sentence.
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/man-who-punched-green-party-co-leader-james-shaw-sent-to-prison/JSE6DD2LQ5PAUPXYDBTSA5TMQY/

Don’t forget apparently Marama also thought that microagressions from Pakeha NZ were responsible for the Tarrant terror attack and copious amounts of money were spent on that, leaving the Samsudeen the mall terrorist to knife and nearly decapitate a number of woman in an Auckland mall – under being a potential ‘protected’ person for years in NZ.

It is not tenable for someone to be in Marama’s position and be putting taxpayers resources into the wrong areas due to their bizarre beliefs that white cis men are responsible for all violence and try to change the statistics to their beliefs and ignore current violence.

Apparently the anti terror groups are looking at white woman who might be doing knitting as they could be white supremacists.

It is crazy use of resources when people are now being put in hospital daily due to the amount of violence (much of it random) that is being enabled in NZ, while all these fringe task forces are being set up to try and prove some point – that is statistically highly unlikely.

    It is crazy politics.

  8. Yes it was, except much worse because many greens sympathised with Meteria’s intentions. Many white heterosexual males will now be wondering if this is the party for them.

      • @BWaV
Putin still has some way to go to beat Stalin (white-cis-male) who fell somewhat short of Mao (not-a-white-cis-male).

Who would have guessed that emotionally potent oversimplifications have their limits?

  9. In addition you can’t compare Metiria to Marama.

    Metira is much smarter.

It was a shame she was hounded out of the Green Party, especially when Paula Benefit was accused of the same with completely different outcome.

    • savenz. Sue Bradford, massively smart, and public protector of our children from the violence of persons much bigger and more brutish than them, was hounded out of the so-called Greens too. They have to go asap.

      • Yup pretty hard to dispute Sue Bradford is genuinely a good person with a deep caring for those less advantaged regardless of your own ‘political leanings’ . . Davidson is just a straight-out racist of very little ability.

  10. Let me see: Metiria fell because of past sins perhaps forgivable given a hard life.
Marama is a thick racist bigot who keeps reminding us of this.
    Little similarity.

  11. Nashville police release bodycam footage of transgender school shooter takedown
    https://americanmilitarynews.com/2023/03/nashville-police-release-bodycam-footage-of-transgender-school-shooter-takedown/

Not the first transgender school shooting.
Transgender teen sentenced to life in prison for deadly Colorado school shooting

Government, police and media should not be condoning and minimising violent actions from the transgender community, – woman are 50% of the population and are already marginalised enough.

Nor should children, education, universities, health care and so forth, become pawns in this bizarre turn of events.

  12. Please don’t ever compare these two women. The one got done in by her own party and support party for trying to survive on NZ starvation benefit and the other is a racist.

  13. Only those with very marginal morality make a real link between what a deviant trans person does in America. No-one really wants their vote. I doubt that type of person votes. If they do, it will be for social credit.

Many (most?) can support trans and women’s rights at the same time. Some (most?) can see ideological capture when faced with that reality.

It is good to see that Stuff is walking back on the name calling culture. I think the moment that Luke Malpass will be cancelled is behind us for the moment. How do we know this? Because Malpass dared to author that opinion piece and Stuff published his opinion piece and others revealing similar sentiments.

  14. If we all stopped breeding now the planet would be human free in about 100 years.
Lets give plants and wee beasties a break.

  15. Pakeha people calling Maori racist is quite ironic don’t yah think? Racism holds a high threshold but Pakeha pretending to be victims of Maori aspirations quickly revert to the R word because Marama D, said white cis men created all the violence which she was factually wrong but to be called a racist?????

    • Yes, because if someone white would say all cis brown man are violent or responsible for violence it would be equally racist. It is the singling out of one identifiable group of people – in this case by race – that makes the statement and the person who uttered it racist.

    • I don’t call. Marama racist for this. I call her factually incorrect, which is inexcusable for the Minister of violence prevention.

The comment also looks to have come from someone who is immersed in Critical race theory. Which is just a theory/hypothesis, which in my opinion is deeply unhelpful

  16. John Shelby Spong has been an inspiration to me. I tried hard to understand how I too can be a feminist. How can a man be a feminist without demonetising feminism for women? He wrote many books and could not convince me.

The shame at the rotanda did it for me.

To be a feminist, I need to man up!

One can support trans rights and women’s rights at the same time. It is called human rights.

    • She was invited by Maori Women and used the cash that she makes on her ‘standing for women’ website. IF you like to contribute you can subscribe and you can buy merch. How about you show some proof for your accusation of her ‘being’ paid to come here.

      • It seems like perfect timing for her to come over in the run up to an election, toss a match into the tinderbox that is NZ politics at the moment, then fly out without saying goodbye. Maybe you are right but it seems a bit unlikely that she came for a holiday and did a bit of speaking on the side so she could claim expenses when she got home.

        • Kellie Jean came here to let women speak. It will come as a shock to many of you but if you speak up about the harms of gender ideology, including prescribing minors puberty blockers, you are smeared, villified and cancelled.

That’s why I believe very little of what was said aboout PP and nazis etc. I know the play book

  17. The Police can do there own review of their response if they feel it warrants it.
It seems that Aloha is calling for a review every five minutes, with all the resources and time and expenditure that takes up, while also criticising the use of working groups and consultants and the expenditure that takes up. It is the pot calling the kettle blak.

  18. @Sam Clements, the free speech argument is important. But if Posy Parker was preaching antisemitism instead of anti trans (male to female, not female to male, meaning anti male), should her entry into NZ have been blocked then?

    • Yes.
If she preached eugenics, then yes.
If one is kicked out of NZ for anti white male speech …….. how many would be allowed to stay?

  19. Marama has my full support. Her comments have revealed, in the almost universal condemnation of them, the huge degree of hidden misogyny and racism that fills our country. The sheer number of white settlers who have rushed out to attack an indigenous woman for daring to speak her mind saddens me. The bile and vitriol in their commentary underlines the determination of this settler mentality to continue their subjugation of tangata whenua.
Of particular concern is the co-option and perversion of the concept of Woke. It is an example of white supremacy that people have ,successfully, sought to appropriate this concept, subvert its meaning, and use it as an axe against those to which it is an integral part of their identity.

    • Oh Please Peter H.

The Minister of violence prevention that didn’t condemn the violence towards the women at Albert Park, who when asked rabbited on about how wonderful trans people are etc etc. Give me a break.

You can keep going with your point of view, but a lot of NZders saw what happened with their own eyes. They are not stupid.

  20. Marama has my full support. Her comments have revealed, in the almost universal condemnation of them, the huge degree of hidden misogyny and racism that fills our country. The sheer number of white settlers who have rushed out to attack an indigenous woman for daring to speak her mind saddens me. • She said that violence is cis white males fault. Two key facts here:
      1. globally stats show it’s males being violent
      2. In NZ also, nearly 50% of reported male on female violence is from Maori men
So yes she was being racist.

      • nukefacts, so lets take Marama Davidson remarks leaving the cis out of white male and apply it globally and historically! A good place to start is with the Romans.

        1) The Roman empire conquering Europe, Africa, M.E region saw millions displaced and die from the conflict.

        2) The Vikings conquering other European nations saw 100s of thousands if not millions killed

        3) Colonizations by Europeans saw nearly 80% of the world fall under their rule. Millions if not billions were displaced and died by this one event which lasted nearly 4 centuries

        4) The transatlantic slave trade saw millions of African enslaved and millions more die.

        5) Leopold II of Belgium genocided 10 million Condolesean in Africa 1865

        6) The Boer war 1899 saw over a million killed.

        7) In 1932 and 1933, millions of Ukrainians were killed in the Holodomor, a man-made famine engineered by the Soviet government of Joseph Stalin.

        8) The Diseases spread by Europeans killed off Millions of Indigenous population globally.

        9) WW1 1914 millions killed

        10) WW2 1936 Ditto

        11) Winston Churchill oversaw the starvation of 3 million Indians during the Bengal famines of 1943

        12) The Holocaust of the Jews, Roma, gays, communist, etc… accounted for over 6 million+ deaths by Nazi Germany

        13) Nagasaki nuclear Bombing killed 100s of thousands

        14) Hiroshima nuclear bombing again killed 100s of thousands

        15) The Mau-Mau massacre’s in Kenya saw 100s thousands displaced and die in the 1950s.

        16) The The Korean war shall millions killed

        17) The Vietnam war 1964-75 millions killed

        18) The Falklands war saw 1000s displaced and die

        19) The Iraq and Iran war supported by the west saw over a million killed.

        20) The Yugoslavia bombings by NATO in the 90s saw 100s of thousands displaced and killed.

        21) Iraq 1 invasion saw over 500 000 children die from US sanctions and over a million+ displaced and killed.

        22) Iraq 2 invasion accounted for over a million+ displaced and more than 2 million+ killed

        23) The Libya bombings by NATO in 2011 saw millions displaced and 100s of thousands killed and enslaved.

        24) The Syrian proxy war still going has seen millions displaced and killed

        25) The Afghanistan invasions has displaced millions and killed 100s thousands.

        26) The Ukraine war that still going displacing and killing 10s of thousands and climbing

There’s probably some that I haven’t listed all committed by White males! Marama was only factually wrong when she said ‘cis white male’ so she can’t really be labeled a racist.

        • @Stephen
Your list is mostly factually correct but myopically selective.

Perhaps you could turn your keen analytical skills to the Mongols (Ghengis Khan is credited with wiping out about 20% of the world’s population), pre-Spanish Mesoamerican cultures of wars and human sacrifice, Japanese and Chinese Warlords, Arab and Persian Empires (fun fact the Ottomans were practicing human slavery decades after Europeans banned it, with more africans sold into slavery to the east than west across the Atlantic), then there are the likes of Mao (arguably the biggest mass murderer in history), Paul Pot etc. You can also cite events like massacre of Nanking, Burma railway death camps etc.

You can go on listing crimes of white men, I can go on listing crimes of non-white men.

In no way does this deny the terrible things Europeans have done. The mistake is to think of them as uniquely evil. Further this becomes dangerous because it tends to engender a sense of righteous moral superiority, being innately ‘better than’ the ‘other’, which is how cycles of violence tend to start in the first place (for an example of this on speed, look at Rwanda).

Stephen you seem well researched and smart but for some reason you fail to grasp any sense of the universal shadows within human nature.

  21. Marama has my full support. Her comments have revealed, in the almost universal condemnation of them, the huge degree of hidden misogyny and racism that fills our country. 22.

  23. what percentage of DV is carried out by maori peter and what percentage of the population are maori?

answers on a postcard to the usual address

  24. No doubt the woke will blame the victims and feel sympathy for they/their gunman/woman. You know, because the kids and teachers deserved it! Sarc.

The more they enable people to violence, the more it will happen.

Western media is so woke, most MSM are not even reporting the school shootings (and none I can see in NZ) which is normally front page news. I wonder why people are turned off MSM news and no longer trust it?

Any words of sympathy and condemnation from our government with another school shooting? Haven’t heard any.

    • What gets on our front page every now and then are full page adverts for Harvey Norman and I think one of the Retirement Villages.

  25. “Metiria bravely spoke truth to power over the manner she was forced to break welfare rules”

Seriously? She wasn’t “forced” to do anything; she decided to defraud the taxpayer, which indicates she has low moral character and poor judgment.

    • Fidel the name, probably had some connection with truth and being righteous. Your comment shows no interest in the facts and truth of how mothers cope in trying to bring up children well in a household at a low income level. It is sad that you didn’t get personal experiences that were useful to your family’s needs when you were young. Then you would probably be realistic about the difficulties for solo mothers or fathers.

  26. Marama won’t survive for long. We all know it. Something else will come out or be said. She is now a noose around Hipkins and the lefts necks. Good!

  27. Of greater concern to me than the whote cis male comment (although I do find it deeply concerning). It the lack of condemnation from the Minister at the shocking level of threat, abuse, intimidation and violence shown towards the Let Women Speak women, including PP

  28. for the rightards here….yes 1 trans nutbar went on a schooting spree but do to rightard ‘it’s a mental health problem regarding their shootings he will get the same latitude
…..now how many white evangelicals shoot up schools in yankland….do you know the biggest killer of us kids…desease nope, accidents nope shootings yesssirees
now kindly eat shit and die

  29. ” Fingers crossed NZ didn’t notice any of this. ”

Of course they noticed. That is the reason that this is providing the latest diversion to the horrors of the free market and its enablers …….Mr Hipkins and his colleagues in the LINO government and when the Nasties gain the treasury benches it will provide them with the perfect cover as they rort and rape financially our most vulnerable New Zealanders.

The corporate MSM as one of the best enablers will continue to provide this most delicious drama that keeps on giving.

  30. Is this Marama’s Metiria’s moment ?

    NO

Meteria was resolute and focused on Green party policy and would have recognised the danger of going down the path that Davidson has chosen.

That said she came clean with her financial indiscretion and paid the price on a personal level unlike the corrupt donors and Public service employees and the crimes committed by the ” its almost legal gang ” of Key and his National , ACT , United , Maori party cabal.

And LINO is not immune with the breath-taking arrogance of people like Nash and others hiding in the background.

  31. Our only hope is for a politician to break loose from this trudge to extermination, and talk, and work, the truth. A Left version of Trump. A cricket analogy: for a spinner to float the ball up — always dangerous. As Churchill saw in the 30s, there is no future in the current politics. If Trump is anything to go by, doesn’t have to be a genius.

But they chopped off all our heads when we poked them up, hence your sheepish, Right-leaning, devastatingly short-term attitudes. That’s the plural ‘your’. English grammar went majorly wrong there not differentiating.
