Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

Local Maori have probably tried or thought about getting kaitiaki status, with reasonable funding, in relation to the eels, and some pakeha also would be interested to assist as they can be money earner.

How come this terrible waste of breeding eels and eel stock and fish resources is not being treated like perishable taonga and help rushed to the site? Whales get it when they are stranded. Can only one idea sit in the bureaucratic mind at a time? Environment Canterbury seem like an empty lucky dip sack after my hearing so much about mismanagement. Quick give this farmer some help before it is too late.

So much work to get an iconic unique building in Whangarei – The Hundertwasser Centre is special and unique but financial constraints have led to talks about closing it because Covid 19 has cut international visitors and it is not paying big. How can people be so short-sighted. Everything is going to be diminished and some shut down in decades to come with climate change effects. People have to nurture their own communities if they want to keep the human society going. We are threatened with tech if we allow incompetence and lack of imagination to lead to fractures in our society which can be filled with AI. We still have some competencies left and I think we need to know and nurture them .

Members of a black market crayfish poaching ring which netted $43,140 in illegal sales have been sentenced to home detention and community work.

They were sentenced in Whakatāne District Court on Wednesday after previously pleading guilty to illegally harvesting and selling nearly 1500 crayfish from Māhia Peninsula between 2020 and 2021.

Would co-governance bring harsher outcomes? I would hope so, 1500 crayfish and lying about the customary events quoting marae o bad. Selling them around the country wasn’t a local marae matter. Soon there would not be any to sell or have for special occasions.
