Seymour denies ACT contributed to climate change denial
Speaking on Q+A, Seymour said the party’s scepticism on climate science was before his time as party leader, and that ACT had credibility on the climate crisis today.
In a policy document, last accessible in 2016, ACT suggested: “New Zealand is not warming. There is no warming trend since 1970, and the slight warming trend since 1950 is not statistically significant.
In addition, Seymour distanced himself from a statement from former leader Rodney Hide, saying that the claim was made 15 years ago when he lived in a different country.
In 2008, Hide argued in Parliament that “the entire climate change and global warming hypothesis is a hoax.”
The funniest thing from the weekend was watching David Seymour trying to pretend that ACT aren’t a banjo twanging climate denial party and that their previous climate denial helped stop real change.
Previous leader Rodney Hide is on record calling climate change a hoax and until 2016 ACT had climate denier propaganda on their own website.
Jack busted David on Q+A and reminded him of all the denial, ACT of course have changed their tune because they can’t keep tricking punters into believing the science isn’t settled and its safer politically to pretend adaptation over mitigation.
But to pretend ACT aren’t a climate denying party and haven’t been instrumental in tricking NZ into being as unprepared as they are now for climate change is a lie too far!
OF COURSE ACT are a climate denial party, they have always been a climate denial party, they know they can’t sing that song any longer, not because there isn’t a clear climate denial electorate in NZ, but that electorate are mostly redneck farmers who think ‘Cindy’ is a community.
That redneck climate denial electorate is the kiss of death to ACTs new urban vote.
ACT are a Party of climate denial, they only like free speech when Polynesian Poets aren’t included and their Treaty policies will start a race war in NZ.
Watching ACT deny they are climate deniers has been the best start to the week.

ACT is the tip of rogers little penis poking into our affairs after 39 years of his toxic influence over our society, taxes paid for public infrastructure and our broader economy. seymour, the slick twerker, is an advanced guard to mock detractors and to hide the otherwise crimes of now nine multi billionaires who’ve mysteriously risen to infamy from within a small population of people who’s primary industry is agriculture and the exporting of [it].

Since our primary exports industry is agriculture, in the broadest usage of the word, then you’d think the two tweedles from The Green Party, James ‘HSBC Bankster’ Shaw and Marama ‘The Cunt Word Reclaimer’ Davidson would be in there with agriculture to design new approaches to agriculture and offer support and information on how that could be achieved, right?
Instead, what does the Green Party actually …do? Nothing. Not one thing. Agriculture must return to regenerative practices. That means no agri-chemicals which means no mercantile firms AKA the mafia peddling toxic poisons to farmers to support over-stocking which leads to toxic waterways, the death of soil biomes and the creation of now nine multi billionaires and record net profits going off shore via the digestive systems of now four foreign owned banks.

Honestly, the dude has never been in ‘active’ government. What ever we are living trhough today is the collective failure of government – mainly left as since 2000 we had more years under a Red/Green agreement then blue/blue. Lets grow a billion fucking pine trees on steep hills and good farming land in order to sell carbon credits. And fwiw, nothing the red/green coalition did in the past helped prevent the events of today, in fact their brain dead and risk assesment free decisions made a lot of things worth. And for that reason alone are these two parties unelectable.

ACT are liars and reality deniers and they do it for the money.
And if elected ACT will claim our contribution to global warming is negligible so not worth pursuing – profit before environment.
Climate change under ACT is a disgrace.
Climate change under Labour & the Greens is an absolute disgrace, because they merely pay lip service to that “nuclear free moment”, whilst pretending to care & doing nothing. At least ACT is honest about their stance on the issue.
ACT and honest is an oxymoron.
Science should always be open to questioning.

NIWAs information is lacking data from the 1800s and all over the place – this means claims of worsening. Climate in NZ are not based on sound science- (it could be true but is not proven) it also means NIWA would appear to have been giving advice eg: on safety to build on flood plains, which has proven to be unsound because of lacking historical data.
NIWA which is where media get their data for climate claims (those that actually research) appears to have been misinforming the public because of missing historical data.

Good point there Nat…But down south we are not going to hear about this NIWA oversight from the likes the ODT….It’s controlled by the Green Party Dunedin Branch…..So who do we use to seek accurate information on anything these days….?? I know Bert swears by the New Zealand Labour Party, and some will say the Daily Blog is gospel and I have learnt a lot of information from this site….Perhaps if we had some impartial government departments that were approachable with unbiased , and to the best of their knowledge, accurate data and information sourced by public servants without their own personal politics tainting their information….I know…Crazy idea…
