Dear stupid Kiwis – every time you catch Covid, you get sicker!

My dear fellow Kiwis.

I know, I know, I know.

We all want Covid to be over.

We all want Covid to be behind us.

This thing has damaged our society, our economy and our communities.

Many of us have caught this bloody thing now and the first couple of days were a bit rough, but the vast majority of us bounced back right and our own experience of the ‘Vid means we think we know it.

“It’s like the flu’ we tell ourselves and we look at that experience and we say, ‘you can’t shut the country down for that’.

Well.

We are all wrong!

This is not the fucking flu.

It is a novel virus that is constantly mutating.

Put aside the fact we refused to spend the $50Billion to vaccinate the entire planet which has created a pool of billions for a far more dangerous variant to emerge, the truth is that ever single time you catch Covid, you get sicker and weaker!

That’s right – every single time you catch Covid not only do you risk long Covid each time, but the virus makes you sicker and weaker!

That’s not the fucking flu! It’s a completely different kind of beast!

AIDs killed 40 million over 40 years, Covid has killed 18 million in 3 years.

I don’t think we are truly appreciating how damaging Covid is and because of that if we are seriously considering restricting visitors from China then we also need to restrict visitors from America because a new variant is showing it can bypass vaccines…

Highly immune evasive omicron XBB.1.5 variant is quickly becoming dominant in U.S. as it doubles weekly

    • The Covid omicron XBB.1.5 variant has nearly doubled in prevalence over the past week and now represents about 41% of new cases in the U.S., according to CDC data.
    • XBB.1.5 is highly immune evasive and appears to bind better to cells than other members of the XBB omicron subvariant family.
    • Scientists at Columbia University have warned that the rise of subvariants such as the XBB family could “result in a surge of breakthrough infections as well as re-infections.”

…XBB.1.5 is more dangerous than the version we have here.

Start the restrictions immediately, we do not want a more dangerous variant entering NZ.

We do not comprehend how much danger Covid still represents to us because we haven’t had a novel virus enter our species like this since the influenza pandemic of the early 1900s.

After every major pandemic in human history there is social unrest…

“So when our Sickness, and our Poverty Had greater wants than we could well supply; Strict Orders did but more enrage our grief, And hinder in accomplishing relief.”

That’s how the British poet George Wither explained a spreading rebellion against social-distancing rules. Seeing quarantines and lockdowns as unfair and tyrannical punishments, people were taking to the streets. The year was 1625, the place was London, the disease was plague.

…The peasant revolt in the 1300s, the civil unrest in the 1600s and the civil disobedience in the 1900s. The strict measures required to snuff out pandemics always makes the lives of the poorest unliveable, we haven’t seen the full economic and social whiplash of Covid yet, especially amongst small business owners and those who were already vulnerable.

You might like to pretend that Covid is over dear Kiwis, but it isn’t.

Covid and its full health impact is a bit like Climate denial. You can say you don’t believe in catastrophic climate change as much as you like, but the reality is it is happening regardless of what you believe.

You can say you don’t believe in Covid, but it will still make you sicker and sicker each time you catch it.

Remember all those Covid deniers pleading on their death beds?

That’s us now.

  1. And now the country where it all started from is at the peak of their pandemic and all restrictions have been removed, right at a time when all these kiwi businesses want our immigration settings reduced to fill a whole heap of slave labour positions they dont want to pay kiwis decently for.
The incompetence of the govt isnt even going to bother testing any of them either!
I give us 3 months tops before this country grinds to a halt.

  2. Lol, you think this government are going to bring restrictions back?

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

It’s not politically palatable to do that now, and the even funnier thing is, you know that. It was only about health for a few months, then it became what worked for them politically. You want proof? Look around you.

  3. Just stay at home. Don’t ever leave. Work from home. Call in your groceries and toiletries and someone who is expendable will deliver it to you so you don’t run the risk of Covid. All problems solved.
The rest of us will have to risk covid, because it is everywhere now and we all gonna get it. And yes, chances are it will kill us in the end. So really, stay at home. Don’t ever leave your house/flat/dwelling/garage/. Live online. And hope that those that keep everything running will do so for ever. Cause you for sho would not want to leave the house.

  4. This will bring out the denial idiots. My son in Melbourne listens to NZ radio and cannot believe the constant reference to covid compared to Melbourne dispite the high death rate there. The World is in a form of denial which will have serious concequences especially for the elderly and immune compromised .

  5. Sounds like your vaccinated to the max and still getting sick. Where funnily enough me and everyone I know unvaccinated is not.

    Your an idiot.

    • Sweetheart, it’s ‘you’re an idiot’, not ‘your an idiot’ love. If you want to be a hateful little prick (and let’s be honest the spiteful and malicious shit you always attempt to post here is fringe sociopath), it’s best to get the spelling right or you look like a clown.

  6. I’m inclined to not take these statistics at face value (yes I’m vaccinated thanks).
These figures are for the elderly I think? or at least skewed that way eg older = sicker with each infection, plus there is often a reason some people are prone to more infection than others (immune compromised already) and so on.
    Correlation vs causation.
I’d want to read the study in detail. Media loves to cherry pick for dramatic effect, they don’t give a shit about balance or helping people understand.
And there has been shocking cherry picking of the scant available science by both governments and “believers” and anti vax “unbelievers”.

    • I am no anti vaxxer but the figures have been corroborated in various countries. Sadly it will affect the elderly most because they have worn out immune systems, hearts etc but it has also been having severe repercussions in some in their 20’s and 30’s. Has been most talked about in those who require peak fitness for their work such as athletes, divers etc. Covid is a nasty disease regardless of how mild it is.

Very early in the pandemic, I was reading all that I could about it and came across something written by a ?? cardio thoracic? surgeon and he was explaining that it is within the veins and causes like mini explosions (inflammation reaction) throughout the veins and that was why so many people were not responding to ventilation because the minute capillaries and things in the lungs were all effed up. Also for others, there were clots forming throughout the body in various organs and veins etc.

So it annoys me when people say it is just a cold.

Our mistake was diving into dodgy vaccines in a panic but they were right to be concerned about it just as they were right when they said Covid was not going to go away anytime soon. I was giving it ten years to mutate itself and be overtaken by herd immunity but unfortunately, it is mutating in such a way that it doesnt deliver herd immunity so Sweden’s much lauded approach was as much a wash as ours and the future is very uncertain. Afterall, it was being grown in a lab as a possible Bio weapon so it was never going to be a complete walk in the park.

The other bit of news that seems to be being borne out currently is that the risk of severe side effects from covid infection grows in relation to the number of vaccine doses you have had. Saw some European research the other day which seemed to be pretty clear on this but we may need to wait another month or two for corroborating studies.

I am keeping a lower profile but still going here and there selectively and hope to remain Covid free for as long as possible while still enjoying a relatively normal life. But as a family we have decided that after 3 doses we are dunzo. It looks like taking your chances is a better option at this stage.

      • No argument that it’s not fun, but notice the emotive language the surgeon used to describe a vasculitis -something other viruses can cause too.
And for a while we were all horrified covid was shrinking everyone’s brain – something also attributed to other viral infections too.
Yeah it’s it’s own thing but it is still a virus and our body fights it like other viruses.
I was one at the outset who said a vaccine for a coronavirus may very well not be a magic bullet – due to the properties of said viruses they don’t make great vaccines unlike day smallpox or measles which make very strong immunity. Still got vaxed because it looks like it helped lessen severity.
Death rate to omicron is now higher than seasonal flu by 2-3 x but not the 10 fold death rate feared from earlier strains, and that does put it in a bracket similar to a bad flu outbreak year so some direct comparisons are perfectly fair in my opinion.
So I’d like to see where these figures came from, I trust “dr someone” on the internet no more than anyone else, look at the politicizing of science our own Dr pink hair did.

  7. The main problem I have with our world-wide Covid experience is the polarization and politisation at both ends of the spectrun ,,,, with Pedro being an examole of one end ,,,, and the Aussie Govt’s treatment of the tennis player Djokovic being an example of the other end.

Because of the amounts of disinformation from all ends it’s very hard if not impossible to learn from what happened and increase our understanding for handling the next epidemic threat.

Lockdowns/quaranteens do work as proven by AoNz being Covid virus free and released from lockdowns when it was spreading and becoming endemic in the rest of the world ,,,, whether it was worth it with the mortality rate is a totally separate argument and with conflicting and contradictory information I don’t pretend to have the answer to that.

All I can say with certainty is that if China wanted to take over the world they just need to release a really lethal virus like smallpox ,,,, and after three months of hunkering down and eating noodles they could emerge with ‘free western nations’ (apart from AoNz) depopulated…..

…. More seriously though whats happened in Africa is worth looking into ,,,,,, my guess is the age demographics of their population with lots of vitamin D (sunshine) ,,,, either way impartial scientific information is sorely needed to be studied and acted upon.

No apparent covid in Africa https://youtu.be/222G8VV6hx4 * note, this video is not ant-vax ,,, if I was going there I’d take the cholera vaccine available and you’d be a utter fool not to….. same with protecting against a few of the other nasty endemic diseases they have on that continent.

  8. if idiots choose to suicide, my world feels a bit lighter…my only caveat is covid isn’t a thing is filling up our hospitals and denying other treatment they need and want.

    • Posting a twitter link with no accompanying information and still expecting people to click on the link?

      That’s so pre-Musk.
