Brothers and sisters, comrades and free radical thinkers.

As you are all aware by now, The Working Group is New Zealand’s bestest and greatestest Weekly Political Podcast THAT IS NOT FUNDED by NZ on Air.

Despite getting NO MONEY from NZ on Air, our little weekly political podcast keeps hitting number 1!

Now we are moving from the Mediaworks Studio to a specially built bunker podcast studio ADJACENT to Mediaworks Auckland HQ and we are now putting the show out 8.30pm Tuesday nights.

We needed a specially built bunker podcast studio to contain the talent, insight and ego of the greatest political panel in NZ broadcasting history!

This week Political Scientist Dr Bryce Edwards, former Green Party MP Gareth Hughes and Stuff Columnist Damien Grant to debate the big political issues of the week.

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

Issue 1 – The politics of ramraids

Issue 2 – Will economic recession hit in election year?

Issue 3 – The China thaw & COP27 freeze

and Issue 4 tonight – US Midterm Election ramifications.

The podcast broadcasts 8.30pm Tuesdays from our purpose built studio bunker ADJACENT to Mediaworks studios on Facebook, YouTube & The Daily Blog and posted up afterwards on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Rova & YouTube

  1. The only real debate must surely be; where the fuck’s our money? There are now nine *multi-billionaires from an agrarian economy in a country the population of which is about the size of an av’ Australian city so where the fuck’s our money!? Ask that question?
Warning. ” Well, gee, I dunno but whaddaboutthem Black Ferns though, aye? ” won’t fuckin’ do.
    * 1 billion dollars. That’s one thousand millions. A thousand of them. What does a million in, say, one hundred dollar bills look like I wonder? All pink and stacked up on the kitchen table beside the power bill, the kids dental and Dr, the rates demands, the bank statements and sundry other bills still sent via the old fashioned mail. I know what a thousand dollars looks good. But one million in hundreds? No. And that’d just make one million. Imagine what twelve to fifteen or so Billions would look like? Graham Hart’s got that. He was a panel beater until he somehow got hold of the government printing office at below market value to on-sell for a fancy profit. Wasn’t that the way it went? Let’s get our heads around that.
Twelve billion is twelve times one thousand of the millions. So, you got a million in one hundred dollar bills sitting on the dinner table. Add another nine hundred and ninety nine millions of your hundies to that stack and you have one billion dollars. Now. To that, add another eleven stacks of billions, each of which is one thousand of the millions remember, to that stack. All on your dinner table. Would you then eat a hot pie and a cheap salad for dinner?
Choke it all down with the help of a mug of bubbles?
The Daily Blog should stop fucking around and instead become all forensic accountant on the multi billionaire motherfuckers. There’s clearly and obviously enough support to walk right in and fuck shit up. Aye Boys?
Do you ever get the feeling that there’s something deeply wrong and deeply deviant, about our economy and our politics? No. Me neither.

  2. Bomber. It’s extremely disingenuous to suggest farming has minimal value by referring to the direct GDP figures. First of all these figures don’t capture the processing part of agriculture (comes under manufacturing), and secondly primary industries make up 80% of our exports by dollar value. Basically if you take them out of the picture, everything from overseas becomes much much more expensive which cripples the rest of the economy.

Don’t take my word for it, ask Bernard Hickey.
