Look at all this impost on people having boarders in their own home yet the smart set can buy and hold or sell numerous HOUSES and have a nice one to themselves and they can make good returns if they ignore R&M.

Yet to manage at the bottom of the $ totem pole rigid rules on housing apply. Goodness those little people are providing a service, and covering their costs plus perhaps a bit more.so we must watch them carefully and ACT. This must be stopped, taxed.

Greywarbler eggs even chicks, get tossed out of the nest by some bird of a different stripe. All these foreign human imports to NZ result in the same thing, and ordinary NZs bear the tax and higher rates and bigger mortgage payments or homelessness or motel malfunctions because of supply and demand imbalance. Either economists don’t like people or they are clever robots or they’re proficient at the ‘if you can’t make it, then fake it’ game.

    • Haven’t read all the links in detail yet @Grey, but IRD are busy going after the low hanging fruit and easy pickings rather putting all their resources into the evaders and avoiders. (For example the cashy jobs and the corporates who’re busy filling their pockets = the ones the gNatzies want to give Tex Cuts to).
Gummint hasn’t yet comes to terms with the tensions between the technofiles and the technophobes and are busy erring on the side of the philes – we’ll do it because technically we can.

A lot of it appears to be the automatons at work. I keep getting not very clever notifications to furnish a return a couple of weeks after having done so because I was “deemed” to have been self-employed even though I haven’t done any work for financial gain in well over a year. I do let someone couch surf one or two days a week who’d otherwise be homeless and store their shit and collect their mail – I’ll bet IRD probably deem them to be a border in this space, going forward.

And while the gNatzy’s Tex Cut are busy devising their protection rackets, Grunter and his little Elf are only very slightly better (running protection for mates in that space in the New World). I imagine they’ll be wondering why they’ve lost the next erection come ’23, if and when that comes to pass.

And IF they miraculously scrape in, it’ll only be because they’re the least worst option.

  2. Ooh I can’t help making the expected response to this – what a cliche it is but it needs recognition.

We can’t have a Childrens Commissioner to watch that we don’t go off our trolleys as in Cambodia or Myanmar or western nations somewhere. No. But we can have a Grocery Commissioner. Pat pat on the head – will that do sheeples says the Man/Woman/Trans in the Iron Mask. What is behind that mask we don’t really know. Perhaps it will be revealed next Halloween.

  3. It’s now the 7th rather than the 6th. But Oh what a pleasure it is to watch the demise of the Boris in real time, in this space, going forward.
I think there might be learnings in this space, going forward, for NuZull’s Labour party (in the fullness of time).

There are Green Shoots however: Such as the Phaff now gone; such as the Wood stepping up; such as Chippers and one or two others gaining a feel for how the electorate is rocking; such as the member for the Rapa
I’m taking bets on whether or not it’ll be a hard or soft landing and I think it’ll come down to whether or not Labour can reconnect with its fundamentals.
Apparently, good things take time – in a Whurl that’s running out of time

    • Btw @Martyh, IF and When the best of the :Labour and Green Parties, and possibly alongside The Murry and tOPS,, we could actually be ready for this Jelly.
What are your reckons on the chances? For my money, so far the chances aren’t looking that great but I’m hoping the likes of Wood, McNulty, Golriiz, Ricardo and one or two others could pull all the correct ‘levers’.
Coiuld be ’26 tho; before we’re able to have a complete cleanout of the bullshit artists and a rebuilding of trust in our democratic institutions by which time I’ll be either parked up half way up a Himalaya or in a Sacramento basement garage.
