I find Shane Retis’ comment to be stupid, irresponsible and patronizing. In fact he is feeding into the frenzy racist rhetoric currently circulating with our election nearing. Perhaps he is trying to be relevant by using his own people as a political football by putting in the boot. All the more reason our people, our PI whanau and all the poor need to vote after all many of us are the bottom feeders Luxon was referring to. And this morning his interview with Jenny May showed he doesn’t give a shit about the poor/low income as he is chasing the middle squeezed votes who are more likely to vote and he knows it.
