The design problems at the new Auckland Maximum Security Prison still haven’t been rectified so inmates can transfer over . Earliest date now advised by Neale Beales is 10 October , but take that with a grain of salt .
Big boost to the Miro Unit economy from Monday , with the addition of about 15 jobs paying $18/week to the existing 8 horticulture jobs . The 15 will prepare the evening meals for the whole prison .
A Parole lawyer reports to me this week “new Chairman Sir Ron Young so far he has been making very good Parole decisions” . However , Corrections has yet to to offer me an opportunity at the Auckland selfcare unit or Work To Release , as suggested to them by the Parole Board in March.
I also hear from Kelvin Davis on TV that the total prison muster has fallen 6% since March . However , Miro Unit is still double bunked and both these issues will therefor remain on the grievance list for my hearing in the Hamilton High Court in November . I have another Court Management Conference for this tomorrow in preparation . The Crown had been instructed to provide me with “discovery” documents by last Friday and failed to do so . I will be asking the Court to apply a penalty on them for this
Judge Whata still hasn’t released Harris’ perjury hearing transcripts to the Police so they can conduct an investigation into further perjury allegations against Harris . With the recent death threat letter against me from Harris , it looks as though these delays could be emboldening Harris . I am sending Judge Whata another Memorandum advising him of this and requesting urgent release of the transcript , so both the perjury & death threat allegations can be investigated. Goodness knows what Harris may do next.
