What the online Left don’t get about National Party propaganda

The latest National Party attack advert has been mocked by many of the online Left…

…it follows a similar vein of Jacinda framed as a ‘not out’ Cricket player that National have previously used.

We of the online Left have openly mocked these weird memes which keep showing Jacinda winning as a weird message to use in attempting to denigrate the new Government. What we on the online Left however are missing is that for rump National voters who believe erroneously they were cheated by Jacinda winning, this constant winner framing is rubbing salt in still open wounds.

National want their voters to be spit speckled with rage come 2020 because feeding their anger is all National can offer. The bankruptcy of their policies are now laid bare, their underfunding of the social and physical infrastructure of NZ for sugar highs can no longer be hidden and their total lack of vision beyond cheap milk powder to China can’t be ignored.

All National have left is to feed their voters MMP prejudices and that will only get more shrill by every passing month.

  1. I wouldn’t mind driving with Jacinda, at least she doesn’t bitch about my music choice or smoke in my car.

  2. Cheap milk powder? You forgot about selling “our” limited housing stock and freshwater to the largest dictatorship on the planet, in addition to providing subsidised health and transport to their non-English-speaking geriatrics. For the record, there is no “on-line” [sic.] ‘Left’ in No Zealand.

  3. look the nationals are rilly rilly pissed off. and bugger their stupid rump.
the country knows that nationals have blown it but they are still very dangerous and nasty to boot. they ramped up the dairy industry till it went bung and left a nasty disease behind. they buggered the education payroll and many other stupid and wasteful patronages made the place into a joke and terrorised the environment. crazy shit. and they did nothing about P. they are letting that one run because it burns people up when they want them to work. the nationals think they are modern but they are just vicious

  4. The most disgraceful denigrating of the govt came in the sexist comment made about PM Jacinda Ardern in Parliament, which, as far as I know, the so-called man who made it, has not owned up to. Some man. He needs to grow up, but he probably never will.

It sums up more eloquently than I doubt he ever intended, the spoiled brat tenor of the opposition; if they continue to act like a bunch of juvenile hoons and loons, it may work as well for them as it did for their warped self-obsessed predecessors – but they should not keep counting on it.

  5. … ” National want their voters to be spit speckled with rage come 2020 because feeding their anger is all National can offer ” …

Yeah and that’s all they can do.

There’s an old adage about ‘ chickens coming home to roost’,… another about ‘making your bed now having to lie in it ‘ , yet another about ‘ if the cap fits, – wear it ! ‘.

I guess these would be the same sort of short term thinkers that would have quibbled about the rebuild of Europe after the Second World War.

And NZ has just been through 9 years of destruction and wilful degradation of infrastructure directly due to National party policy.

What is any new govt to do once the books are opened and they see the horrendous state the country was left in?

Because THAT’S what is happening now.

It is for no small reason that the term RWNJ ( right wing nut job ) was coined,… and that description suits the Key / English led govt to a tee.

9 bloody long horrendously destructive years of it.

    • +100…yes least we NOT forget!

( for the sake of democracy the sooner a compulsory civics program is brought into NZ schools the better….and compulsory enrollment on the Electoral rolls…this new coalition government has to be proactive for the future !!!)

  6. Well, well, well, what do we have here…

Govt depts clock up $1bn in consultant fees

Government departments which have spent millions in laying off staff are responsible for nearly $1 billion in consultants’ fees.

Figures provided by the Labour Party showed ten agencies have spent $910.5 million on contractors since 2008 while also spending $114.1 million on redundancies.

The restructuring of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) had seen departing staff collect $31.3 million in redundancy payments before contractors were hired at a cost of $125 million.

But that’s ok. I left a message on National’s Twitter account (https://twitter.com/NZNationalParty/status/996118301699854337) to point out their hypocrisy.

    Happy to help. 🙂
