David Tamihere trial secret Witness C revealed as double murderer Roberto Conchie Harris
The jailhouse snitch who gave false evidence at David Tamihere’s double murder trial can now be revealed as convicted double murderer Roberto Conchie Harris.Harris’s identity, which has been kept secret for nearly 30 years, was revealed after he dropped an appeal against his latest conviction.
He was sentenced to eight years and seven months imprisonment by Justice Christian Whata late last year after he was found guilty of lying at Tamihere’s trial three decades ago.
…the NZ cops knew Roberto Conchi Harris was bent, but used his testimony to arrest and send Tamihere down. Harris has gone down for 8 years and 7 months for his role in framing Tamihere, but what about the NZ cops who used him?
Of course the system won’t prosecute them.
Again, this NZ Police corruption has only come to light because our very own Prisoner Rights Blogger, Arthur Taylor has spearheaded the prosecution. The same Arthur Taylor who was beaten unconscious by Prison staff late last year and moved to a different prison where he had no access to his legal papers to fight this case and the other case against the government for stripping prisoners of their rights to vote.
Taylor has been given none of the respects he deserves for single handedly taking on a corrupt Police force and corrupt political establishment.

Police using secret witnesses who also turn out to be convicted murderers have no place in our justice system. The lawyers and police using this evidence should be censored and have to pay part of the damages to the victim for false testimony.

If you are being prosecuted for something we need to have a fair justice system!
Weird it takes someone behind bars to bring this to light, not the actual lawyers working for justice in the system.
Makes the recent sexual harassment claims which sounds like fairly widespread in the law industry shed some light on the law industry which can’t even clean up its own act, let alone serve justice in this country.
That’s what happens when you get degrees like law used for job enhancement for money or prestige, not actually for talented people to make a difference in society. The behaviour of the Jordan Williams comes to mind. Morals and Lawyers seem to be taking separate paths in NZ.
Crooked bent cops and we had many and may still do. But what about our judges and JPs some of them are racist, discriminative and bias many coming from privileged backgrounds. Having been to court and seeing the courts in action many times the clerks who work there can also be all of the above. The whole judicial system needs a bloody good shake up. And access to fair justice depends on how deep a person wallet is in this country and too many NZders are oblivious to this especially when they haven’t been a victim or on the other side. And to add to the matter the biggest gang in NZ is the NZ police and every now and then we see their true racist colours come to the fore.
The cop who arranged the testimony against Tamihere will never face justice. He is already dead and was well known for fabricating evidence and perjuring himself.
What can be done is to rule out the use of jailhouse informants totally. They are scum who are used by even worse scum in the police farce to get unsafe convictions.

We have had problems with the judiciary here in NZ ever since the white man landed in NZ. The Maori Land Court was a classic example of a corrupt judiciary, very little has changed in 200 years ?

That whole institution needs deep reform from top down and bottom up.
To play the devil’s advocate, if you read David Tamahere’s criminal record, it could be understood why the filthy dirty cops wanted him shut away from society as long as possible. Logically, some innocent people were spared catastrophic events by his incarceration. The two Swedes probably just got lost in the bush. So there was no killer. David Tamahere stole their car. Maybe this did not cause the Swedes to get lost in the bush. But what kind of unthinking ass-hole would steal someone’s survivial vehicle in the bush?
Will he certainly got more than he bargined for,I bet it will be the last car he steals. If he was an honest, upright member of the community he would not be inside.
This case definitely needs an overview from a new objective pair of eyes ?
Lloyd ! They didn’t just get “lost in the bush” . The Crown pathologist found Urban Hoglin had been stabbed in the neck and belly and someone had tried to cut his head off .
