NZ can’t expel any Russian spies because we can’t find any, so what about Chinese spies?

The headline from the Guardian is hilarious…

New Zealand says it would expel Russian spies … but it can’t find any

As countries around the world deport diplomats in solidarity with UK, Jacinda Ardern says ‘there are no individuals in New Zealand who fit profile’ of a spy

…ok, so we can’t find any Russian Spies to expel, soooooooooooooo what about any Chinese Spies? Like any who are actually inside a current Political Party, who was even inside the Government, trying to get other spies inside NZ, what about them?

Any Chinese Spies who are embedded inside a NZ Political Party?

  1. Og, but that’s “WACIST!”, “WACIST!” and “XENOPHOBIC!”, Martyn. No Zealand is a full vassal state of the Chinese dictatorship…. every day another step towards the inevitable civil war…

    • Ah Castro. I do like to ignore you but every now and then the crowds need to be reminded of why we ignore you. With that said lets roll.

You would need a titanic uprising, i.e. 90%+ civilian support and most of the NZDF/Police defecting.

But if that were to happen, they could just win through an election.

Any revolution without significant military support is going to fail, simply because any revolution will be facing not only a very hardened military, but one that’s cut its teeth on insurgent warfare for more than a decade on the other side of the planet and will be much, much more capable of putting one down on its home turf. Light infantry guerillas with hunting rifles will not be cutting it, simply because drones.

For the bare minimum of survivability a revolution would need the ability to detect and shoot down drones, otherwise they will not even be able to take a shit without being watched and blown up the moment they do anything hostile.

      • Your post is at the very least mistaken.

For proof look at how the Republic of Ireland gained its independence from the UK.

        • If I want your help communicating with the avatar known as CASTRO I’ll god dam ask for it. I have a very low tolerance of CASTROs calls for armed revolution. Capiche…

    • Castro, your delusional rants about “impending civil war” remind me of the old character in “Dad’s Army” who kept shouting, DON’T PANIC! DON’T PANIC!!

      You are a funny one.

  2. Absolutely Martyn,

This phoney ‘allegations’ of a case against Russian poisoning is not yet proven, but is rather just a one sided scepticism belonging to the right wingnuts here, as they were fond of dealing all the time with the worlds largest communist Government (China) but hell ‘don’t talk to russia’ as they are red lefties?????? bloody stupid aren’t they?

We are truly entering again the second stage of another global cold war setup by Europe as factions there want to get their hands on Russian oil fields and that is what it is all about.

    • ‘We are truly entering again the second stage of another global cold war setup by Europe as factions there want to get their hands on Russian oil fields and that is what it is all about.’

      Spot on.

And the US would like to get in on the looting of Russia, of course.

      • “And the US would like to get in on the looting of Russia, of course.”

Too late. The Russian oligarchs got in first. As usual it’ll be a war of the One Percenters vs One Percenters, using the sons of poor working class families to do their dirty work.

        • Happened back in Scotland with the Highland Clearances many of the young Scots were away fighting in Europe for the British when the English Lords cleansed the Scottish Highlands ?

        • Priss: “Too late. The Russian oligarchs got in first.”

Pretty much on the money (to coin a phrase..). After 1991, during the Yeltsin years, the oligarchs and western neolibs stole much of the Russian asset base.

This has a great deal to do with why Putin came to power.

And when he became President, he stood on the hands of both oligarchs and said western neolibs, taking back some assets and preventing them from stealing any more.

This has a great deal to do with why the Yanks loathe him, and are agitating for regime change. Thus the sustained and vicious anti-Russia campaign being run by the west for the last decade and a bit. Of which the Skripal incident is the latest manifestation.

    • Somewhat overstated I think cleangreen.

Whilst I agree that the case against Russia is not yet proven and that the UK government has form in telling lies (look at the run up to the Iraq war); Russia too has past form for killing Russian disadents in the UK (e.g. Alexander Litvinenko).

Also apart from the UK, EU member states are much less militaristic than the US and still recognise that the main reason for establishing the EU was to prevent European wars which had been a major and hugely damaging passtime for centuries.

Whilst there may well be factions that want access to Russian oil their best bet would be to invite Russia to join the EU. There are also factions that are serious about preventing catastrophic climate change.

      • Phil Andrews: “Alexander Litvinenko”

There’s a body of US opinion that it was CIA. Also possibly Mossad, on orders from CIA. Could have been MI6, but they’re incompetent: witness Skripal incident. Assuming it was actually an attack.

    • Yeah, that memory crossed my mind as well, Michelle. Why should we believe any government when we’ve been lied to so often. I have zero faith in Putin and his corrupt regime, but i want to see some hard evidence before launching the ‘birds’!

      Fool me once, etc.

      • mjolnir: “….Putin and his corrupt regime…”

        Sez who?

People believe this stuff only because the US and UK have been braying it for years. And the western msm simply repeat it uncritically.

Produce actual evidence, say I. And by evidence I don’t mean articles from mainstream British and US media. I suspect that to do so – assuming that there is actually any truth to this claim – anybody doing a spot of digging needs to have a working knowledge of Russian. Which, of course, excludes pretty much anybody working for western media.

In the absence of credible evidence, we’re well-advised to be sceptical.

      • Mjolnir: “Putin and his corrupt regime…”

I’d add that it is a government, elected as ours is. It is not a “regime”, a word the Yanks in particular use to mark out governments which are out of favour, with leaders whom they want to overthrow.

Even were it the case that Putin’s government is riddled with corruption, it isn’t the business of anybody else but the voters of Russia. We prefer that other polities keep their noses out of our political arrangements; we should extend the same courtesy to Russians.

I quote the Bible: John.8 “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone…”

Or, put more colloquially: pot, meet kettle.

No saints among western polities in respect of corruption.

  3. This is psyop. This is what psyop looks like and feels like. The inversion of all reason. Reason stolen, repackaged and rammed own our throats by harridan creeps like Johnston and May.. LeMesurier and Steele. An IIO -inform and influence operation. This is what spook services DO. So we study it as a designed and orchestrated event. Like 911. A ‘false flag’ casus belli. We study and understand this is how the deeper state functions. Through its media mouthpiece hacks. BBCNN etal: the ‘Wurlitzer’, the mighty Wurlitzer. All the markers are there. The indicators. The patterns. Lack of forensic evidence and the overriding of established Domestic and international Legal protocols. The rush to Judgement. Tub thumping..every news hour…after hour after hour. why, they even had the creepy Bill Browder as the Ehud Barak of the BBC moment on our radio, first up. Such fakery. A disaster of the evolutionary principle.

That NZ managed to squeeze this one maggot of sanity into their response shows the depth of pathetitude the countries that didn’t have reached in their servile crawling.

  4. Where were Morning Report great investigative journalists on the issue of Chinese spies?….ummm not much of a peep

….imo probably because RNZ top- down is pro the Nactional Government ( they never did question them that hard)…look what jonkey Nactional got away with in selling off New Zealand housing and NZ assets

…and against Winston Peters ( Guyon dislikes him intensely) and the Labour Left Coalition Government led by a woman Jacinda Ardern ( easier target)

    • Red Buzzard: “Where were Morning Report great investigative journalists on the issue of Chinese spies?….ummm not much of a peep”

      You might well ask.

RNZ has Phil Pennington, who’s doing a sterling job of investigating domestic issues relating to structural issues with building and the like, along with problems relating to the quality of building products .

But it has no foreign affairs specialists; I’m not sure that it has ever had any, and I’m a longtime RNZ listener, right back to long before Morning Report began. It has over decades simply – and uncritically – rebroadcast propaganda from US and UK outlets. It has taken the rise of the internet, along with being in the university system for a few years, to open my eyes to how systematically we’ve been propagandised over all of my lifetime about what’s going on in the rest of the world.

  5. Unlike Russia, China has a spotless human rights record so we have no reason to expel any of them. Oh wait.

I watched open mouthed this morning on Breakfast, the National MP who was on the “Breakfast Club” say that it’s bad look for Jacinda to not expel anyone because “if an act of like this was carried out on NZ soil, we’d expect our allies to stand beside us”. I immediately thought, “yeah just like they did for us when France committed an act of terrorism on our soil when they bombed Rainbow Warrior, killing a crew member, and all our fantastic “allies” in the US and Europe deported French diplomats and slapped France with severe sanctions”… someone will say that. But no, Jack and Haley (and the Labour MP sitting beside the National one) all dead silent. This is a problem with stacking the media/govt with Millennials – they don’t seem to know much about their country’s own history.

    • I think Britain also had prior knowledge that the French were to bomb the Rainbow Warrior ….and did nothing about it!

      • Red Buzzard: “I think Britain also had prior knowledge that the French were to bomb the Rainbow Warrior ”

Yup. Also US. Penny to a five-pound note, France advised both polities before the bombing. Probably sought permission, even. That’s how such things work among the allies.

  6. %100 Nitrium, and it may seem a small point, but there was actual proof that the French were responsible, but in our modern farcebook world who needs proof???
I mean if the mayhag and boris the bufoon say it is so it must be true.

  7. I see pull -bew-cannon the warmonger is spouting of about our PM
and us (NZ) being a laughing stock and us not sending anyone home. He claims this lack of action ill damage our international reputation. Isn’t it enough we are spying for them (5 eyes) this can also damage our international reputation.

  8. %100 Nitrium, and it may seem a small point, but there was actual PROOF that the French were responsible, but in our modern farcebook world who needs proof???
I mean if the mayhag and boris the buffoon say it is so it must be true.
    first mailed at 2.30pm???

  9. As soon as the Russian agencies hear ‘bah, bah, bah’, they know, there is not much to spy on in New Zealand.

    • While the SIS can’t find intelligence officers, MARC looks to Kiwiblog to prove a lack of intelligence! Given that less than 10% of governments internationally are kicking out Russian diplomats to sooth May’s fevered brow, its great to know we are in internationally ethical company. Besides, who has killed thousands of DU chemical weapons in the Middle East since fomenting war in Iraq?

  10. Jacinda’s response was genius, pure genius. ‘We can’t find any spies,’ good day Sir!

So obviously most spying is done remotely these days via hacking and data mining, diplomats and the like are really here to determine the sentiment NZ has towards other countries.

Kicking Russian diplomats out of NZ would be akin to cutting the lines of communication with a huge international player. The whispers were pretty much; ‘oh please, can’t you just kick a couple Russians out for 3 months?’.

Jacinda’s genius response has completely defused this issue for us and rightly so. Don’t push NZ round on Russia, because we’re already very balanced and could easily rub many countries faces in their own hypocrisy.

    • Zack Brando: “Jacinda’s genius response has completely defused this issue for us and rightly so. Don’t push NZ round on Russia, because we’re already very balanced and could easily rub many countries faces in their own hypocrisy.”

Ha: brilliant comment! You’re bang on the money there.

I note that the government has decided to ban from entry to NZ any Russian diplomats already expelled from other polities. That’s the very least it can do, short of doing nothing.

I’d have preferred that it do nothing, but the latest statement indicates no enthusiasm for joining in the western witch hunt. I detect the influence of Winston Peters here, wily old political fox that he is. God bless him: a welcome blast of common sense from the Beehive.
